2 General Conditions 1. This competition is open to all the photographers across the world. 2. An entry may be rejected when the sponsoring organization or its agent, in its reasonable discretion, believes the entry does not conform to the exhibition rules and conditions 3. Entries must originate as photographs (image-captures of object via light sensitivity) made by the entrant on photographic emulsion or acquired digitally. By virtue of submitting an entry, the entrant certifies the work as his/her own and permits the sponsors to reproduce all or part of the entered material free of charge for publication and/or display in media related to the exhibition. Images where entrants do not give this permission will be declined and entry fees forfeited. 4. Images may be altered, either digitally or otherwise, by the maker and artwork or computer graphics created by the entrant may be incorporated if the photographic contents predominate, without violating Section definition as laid down by PSA/FIAP. The exhibition assumes no liability of any misuse of copyright. 5. The entrant permits the organizers to reproduce all or part of the entered material free of charge for publication and/or display in media related to the Salon. This includes low resolution posting on a website. 6. Entries which will not comply in full or part with the conditions of the Salon, will not be judged. 7. Images or similar images exhibited in previous International Salons of Photography will not be eligible. 8. A photo entered in one section, can not be entered in another section. If two or more similar images are entered by the same author, the first one getting the acceptance score will be considered for acceptance or award, while other images will not be considered. Entries may not be re-titled in any other PSA / FIAP Recognized Exhibition. Images that meet the PID Monochrome definition may not be entered in the Color Class section. They may only be entered in the Monochrome Class section. All entries in the Monochrome Class section must conform to the Monochrome Definition given below. 9. Each image must have a unique title. Once an image has been accepted in a PSA Recognized exhibition, that same image, or a like in camera or a reproduction duplicate of that image : i) May not be re-entered in any section of the same Division Star Ratings class in that exhibition regardless of media, format, or title. ii) May not be re-titled for entry in any other PSA Recognized exhibition Words such as Untitled and No Title are not acceptable as part or all of an image s title, nor are camera capture filenames or titles consisting of only numbers. 10. No title or identification of the maker shall be visible anywhere on the face of an image entered in a PSA / FIAP Recognized exhibition.

3 11. Organizers will handle each digital file and the related items with utmost care. However, they will not be responsible for any loss or damage. 12. Watermarks or any such identification marks including camera generated date / time are not acceptable 13. An entrant s four images will be distributed throughout four rounds of judging. The decision of the Judges will be final and binding on all the participants; no further appeal will be entertained. 14. Participants are requested to submit their entries and remit their entry fees well in time. Late entries will not be entertained and entry fees will be retained. If entry fee is not received within the specific timeframe, photographs will not be considered for selection. 15. There are no restrictions as to subject matter except as outlined in the rules and definitions of specific sections, or specified by law in India. 16. All acceptances in the section for each Class are eligible for Projected Image Division Star Ratings for that Class subject to the requirements of the Projected Image Division. 17. All acceptances will count for GPU and IUP Honor List, and GPU and IUP Distinctions Rules and Regulations 1. All submitted Photographs must be the work of the participant solely. 2. 4 3. File Naming No special file naming is required. If the title of the image is Tajmahal, the file name may be Tajmahal.jpg. However, file name should contain English letters only, and must not be longer than 35 characters. Please note that file extension.jpeg will not be accepted, and the file name must not contain any special characters # $ % ^ & * ( ) _ + \ /? < > =., : ; and ). 4. Submission of Entries Entries must be submitted online. Please visit http// and click on Salon Thereafter follow the instructions to start registration. After completion of registration, you can upload your images after login from your dashboard. 5. Entry Fees Participants will be eligible to enter in up to 3 sections with minimum entry fees at the rate of USD 20,- for overseas entries, and Rupees 700/- for Indian entries, and each additional sections for USD 5,- (Overseas entries) and Rupees 150/- (Indian entries). Sixth section will be free for those who will submit all entries for any five sections. IN other words, entry fees for all 6 sections are : USD 30,- (Overseas entries) and Rupees 1000/- (Indian entries). 7 DEFINITIONS All Images entered MUST comply with the PSA Definitions stated below. Images failing to do so will not be judged. PSA Definitions General: Entries must originate as photographs (image-capture of objects via light sensitivity) made by the entrant on photographic emulsion or acquired digitally. By virtue of submitting an entry, the entrant certifies the work as his/her own and permits the sponsors to reproduce all or part of the entered material free of charge for publication and / or display in media related to the exhibition. This may include low resolution posting on a website. The exhibition assumes no liability for any misuse of copyright. Images may be altered, either digitally or otherwise, by the maker and artwork or computer graphics created by the entrant may be incorporated if the photographic contents predominate, without violating Section definition as laid down by PSA. Creative is defined as "altered reality". Monochrome (PSA) An image is considered to be Monochrome only if it gives the impression of having no colour (i.e. contains only shades of grey which can include pure black and pure white) OR it gives the impression of being a grey scale image that has been toned in one colour across the entire image. (For example by sepia, red, gold, etc.) This definition applies to all sections with the exception that toned images are NOT allowed in Nature, Photojournalism or Photo Travel. Photo Travel: A Photo Travel image expresses the characteristic features or culture of a land as they are found naturally. There are no geographic limitations. Images from events or activities arranged specifically for photography, or of subjects directed or hired for photography are not appropriate. Close up pictures of people or objects must include features that provide information about the environment. Techniques that add, relocate, replace or remove any element of the original image, except by cropping, are not permitted. The only allowable adjustments are removal of dust or digital noise, restoration of the appearance of the original scene, and complete conversion to grey scale monochrome. Other derivations, including infrared, are not permitted. The final image must look natural PSA, FIAP, and RPS Nature Definition: Nature photography is restricted to the use of the photographic process to depict all branches of natural history, except anthropology and archaeology, in such a fashion that a well-informed person will be able to identify the subject material and to certify its honest presentation. The story telling value of a photograph must be weighed more than the pictorial quality while maintaining high technical quality. Human elements shall not be present, except where those human elements are integral parts of the nature story such as nature subjects, like barn owls or storks, adapted to an environment modified by humans, or where those human elements are in situations depicting natural forces, like hurricanes or tidal waves. Scientific bands, scientific tags or radio collars on wild animals are permissible. Photographs of human created hybrid plants, cultivated plants, feral animals, domestic animals, or mounted specimens are ineligible, as is any form of manipulation that alters the truth of the photographic statement. No techniques that add, relocate, replace, or remove pictorial elements except by cropping are permitted. Techniques that enhance the presentation of the photograph without changing the nature story or the pictorial content, or without altering the content of the original scene,

8 are permitted including HDR, focus stacking and dodging/burning. Techniques that remove elements added by the camera, such as dust spots, digital noise, and film scratches, are allowed. Stitched images are not permitted. The final image must look natural. Colour images may be converted to greyscale monochrome. Infrared images, either direct-captures or derivations, are not allowed. Images used in Nature Photography competitions may be divided in two classes: Nature and Wildlife. This includes images taken with the subjects in controlled conditions, such as zoos, game farms, botanical gardens, aquariums and any enclosure where the subjects are totally dependent on man for food. Definition of Wildlife Photography Images entered in Wildlife sections meeting the Photography Definition above can have landscapes, geologic formations, weather phenomena, and extant zoological or botanical organisms free and unrestrained in a natural or adopted habitat, landscapes (initial capital letter removed), geologic formations, photographs of zoo or game farm animals, or of any extant zoological or botanical species taken under controlled conditions are not eligible in Wildlife sections. Wildlife is not limited to mammals, birds and insects. Marine subjects and botanical subjects (including fungi and algae) taken in the wild are suitable wildlife subjects as are carcasses of extant species. Wildlife images may be entered in Nature sections of Exhibitions.
