They remain at $20 per photographer. Non-member spouses may attend meetings but not take part in forums, show and tells etc. March Meeting Meeting date is the 23rd, the 4 th Tuesday. The meeting in March will have the theme of Light. In the first hour, we will see a 30 minute video lecture from the Fundamentals of Photography course we recently purchased for the Club. The title of the lecture is Light - Color and Intensity. The lecturer, Joel Sartore, is a photographer for National Geographic. In this lecture, one of 3 on light, he discusses and illustrates the color of different types of light and how they appear in photographs; the differences between hard and soft light; and how to adjust the camera to maximize its potential in dealing with these various attributes of light. In the second hour, we will convene a panel of 'experts' to field questions from the membership. Hopefully the questions will be on the subject of light, suggested by the video, or perhaps of longstanding interest. Questions on other subjects may also be directed at the panel if they prove agreeable. The membership are encouraged to come prepared, take notes and participate in the program. Critique Group / Elements SIG The next meeting of the critique group will be Tueaday April 9 at the Unitarian Universalist Church on Kanuga, on the right just before the next traffic light South of the one at Erkwood/State streets. Meeting time 1:00 for the Critique group. The Photosop Elements Special Interest Group has run its course. We will not meet further as a group but anyone who would like some one on one instruction may contact me ronwande@bellsouth.net or John Orolin orolin@bellsouth.net to arrange a time for some further instruction. 1

I upgraded to a printer that lets me use external ink tanks so this one is just collecting dust. Make me an offer. Help the Hendersonville Symphony The Hendersonville Symphony League is holding its annual fund raiser on May 18, the Black and White Ball and Auction. Last year several of our members donated signed and mounted prints for the silent auction. They sold very well helping raise over $50,000. These donations were much appreciated. Please consider donating a print of yours this year. It need not be matted nor framed, just mounted on a board with a sleeve to prevent damage. (continued next page) 2
