2 Introducing the New Moisture Series Analyzers: state of the art, redefined. From Panametrics, the world leader in industrial moisture measurement. Panametrics pioneered the use of aluminum oxide hygrometers in the process industries. A continuous development program for both the Al 2 O 3 sensor and associated electronics has led to many breakthroughs now incorporated into the Panametrics Moisture Series Analyzers. They define the state of the art of industrial moisture measurement. The six-channel Moisture Image Series 1 displays logged multichannel data in graphical form to show trends and historical perspective of moisture, oxygen, temperature and pressure. This analyzer and the Moisture Image Series 2 both accept data from any combination of Panametrics probe family, including the new Moisture Image Series Probe, the new TF Series Three-Function Probe and the standard M Series Probe as well as oxygen sensors, binary gas analyzers and others. Three major enhancements. These new instruments offer enhancements in three important areas: new graphical and digtal user/machine interfaces; advanced features that reduce the cost of installation; and improved analyzer performance and low range calibration. Now you can economically measure the concentration of moisture and oxygen, two of the most important gases in industrial processes, from ambient down to parts per billion levels, using one highly advanced single or multichannel analyzer. There are even universal inputs for other types of sensors. Although they are more sophisticated, the new Moisture Series Analyzers are easier to use and offer greater value because of built-in features such as intrinsic safety and isolated outputs. New probe intelligence. There is no need for special cabling with the new Moisture Image Series probe. This three-function probe measures moisture, temperature and pressure all on a single probe mount. Its built-in microprocessor increases resolution to the maximum for ultralow range measurements in the ppb v regions. The Moisture Image Series probe delivers performance to match the capabilities of the new Moisture Series Analyzers in critical gas or liquid phase applications. The Moisture Image Series software, while highly sophisticated, is also extremely user friendly. Alphanumeric, full-screen displays include HELP screen, as shown, as well as displays for alarm set points and calibration data. This is innovation the process industries have come to expect from Panametrics as the pioneer of aluminum oxide sensor and other technologies. As a technology leader, Panametrics remains committed to after-sales service in every corner of the world. The Moisture Image Series 1 and 2 both display data in quickly readable matrix form. The Series 1 can display any combination of four parameters from as many as six channels, as shown, while the Series 2 can display moisture, oxygen, temperature and pressure data for a single channel.

3 The single-channel Moisture Image Series 2, shown in optional portable configuration, can store up to six independent sets of remote location data in memory. The analyzer can display data for moisture, oxygen, temperature and pressure in different units, all at once and in real time. The economical single-channel or optional dual-channel Moisture Monitor Series 3 provides a two-line LCD display. It is available as an optional battery-powered, portable unit and can be used with either the M Series Probe or the TF Series Probe. The Moisture Image Series: to see your moisture and oxygen measurement data as you ve never seen it before. The user/machine interface in the topof-the-line Moisture Image Series 1 and 2 is a graphical LCD that is capable of displaying point-to-point graphs, alarm set points, and six-channel/six-parameter data in matrix form, all in real time. Because graphical presentation of data is quicker and more easily understood than alphanumeric data, operators can now view important measurement information at the analyzer location with a whole new perspective. Initial programming of the analyzers is menu driven and inputs such as probe calibration data are now visible on one screen, significantly reducing errors. The Moisture Monitor Series 3: a new price/ performance leader. For less demanding applications, the Moisture Monitor Series 3 is an extremely cost-effective solution. The two-line LCD display complements some of the available options, such as the oxygen measurement capability and a second channel. The Moisture Monitor Series 3 uses the standard Panametrics M Series Probe for wide dynamic measurement in both gases and liquids, or the TF-Series Probe, which is available with optional temperature and pressure sensors on the same mount as the standard moisture sensor. When the high-performance features of the Moisture Image Series are not needed, the Moisture Monitor Series 3 is the best choice. Oxygen measurement capability. All Moisture Series Analyzers can measure oxygen when coupled with an optional oxygen measurement cell. A wide variety of technologies are available to suit most applications. Data logging. The Moisture Image Series 1 and 2 as well as the Moisture Monitor Series 3 are equipped with a built-in datalogger that simultaneously logs up to 12 items at user-selected time intervals. Logged data and memory usage statistics can be conveniently viewed on the instrument display panels. Additional memory. The memory of the Moisture Series Analyzer can be expanded by adding PCMIA cards to the expansion slot on the controller board. Cards are available in 1 MB sizes and up. Now with data that flows to your desktop. Each of the three new analyzers has an RS232/PC interface to transfer measurement data to a remote PC. Data can be imported to standard software packages, such as spreadsheets, providing analysis and data logging capability. Custom interface software is also available. Calibration data and alarm or analog output settings can be reviewed and modified remotely through a PC.

4 The Moisture Image Series: new features dramatically cut installed cost and improve performance. Installed cost is a critical factor when selecting analytical instrumentation. The many new features designed into the Moisture Series Analyzers, combined with proven Panametrics technology, result in not only reduced installed cost, but easier installation as well. Multichannel operation. Starting with the original Model 1000, Panametrics believed that multichannel analyzers were the most cost effective means of performing analytical measurements. Moisture Image Series 1 and Moisture Monitor Series 3 follow in that tradition. Moisture Image Series 1 is a six-channel analyzer and Moisture Monitor Series 3 has an optional second channel. Multichannel analyzers can significantly reduce the cost per measurement point, while providing the correct configuration to meet specific application needs. Multifunction operation. Beginning with the System 1/O2, Panametrics added multifunction to multichannel, taking the single analyzer concept a step further by adding the ability to make oxygen measurements along with moisture measurements. All three Moisture Series Analyzers have optional universal inputs that can take readings from a variety of oxygen measurement sensors including electrochemical cells, thermoparamagnetic and zirconia oxygen sensors, and thermal conductivity cells. In fact, any sensor that outputs a current or voltage signal can be read by the Moisture Series, making them true multifunction analyzers that save valuable space and expense in the control room. Intrinsic safety and other features. Other cost-reducing features common to the Moisture Series Analyzers include: built-in intrinsic safety for probes and cables; a universal power supply that can accept line power voltages from 90 to 260 VAC; isolated outputs that ensure signals to recorders, computers and other remote devices are not corrupted; and a built-in 24-VDC supply to power current loops. No special cabling. The Moisture Image Series Probe further reduces installed cost by using simple twisted-pair wire for connection, eliminating the need for special cabling. It can be separated from the analyzer by up to 3000 feet (915 meters), and its microprocessor-based electronics continuously monitors and compensates readings to ensure long-term electronic stability. Weatherproof. The Moisture Image Series 1 and Moisture Monitor Series 3 are also available in fiberglass NEMA 4X weatherproof packages for mounting in outdoor locations. Optional portability. For situations requiring spot measurements at remote sites, both the Moisture Image Series 2 and Moisture Monitor Series 3 are available in a batterypowered portable configuration. The built-in capability to store user-entered set-up data makes the Moisture Image Series 2 ideal for taking a large number of spot measurements in the field and later downloading to a PC. Although the Moisture Image Series 2 is a single-channel hygrometer, it can store up to six separate sets of probe calibration data, thus allowing sampling at six independent locations. 6 Panametrics Moisture Probes: setting new performance standards. The true value of any analyzer lies in its performance, and performance always begins with the sensor and its calibration. The moisture sensors used with the Moisture Series Analyzers are derived from the field-proven Panametrics M Series sensors. These rugged, widerange sensors are true absolute humidity sensors with superior sensitivity, response speed and calibration stability. They operate in both liquids and gases, and are designed for on-line use. Their calibrations are traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The Moisture Image Series 1 and 2 can use the standard Panametrics M Series Moisture Sensor Probe, which has a moisture sensor and an optional temperature sensor on a single mount, as well as the microprocessor-based Moisture Image Series Probe or the TF Series Probe. Both of these threefunction probes are available with optional temperature and pressure sensors on the same mount as the standard moisture sensor. The Moisture Series 3 uses either the standard M Series Sensor Probe for moisture measurement or the threefunction TF Series Probe with optional temperature and pressure sensors. The new Moisture Image Series Probe uses a built-in microprocessor to provide 16-bit resolution and to ensure long-term electronic stability and accuracy even down to ppb v levels. It can be located up to 3000 feet from the analyzer, connected by twisted-pair wire. A history of performance. For more than 25 years, Panametrics probes have set the standard of performance and value for industrial moisture measurement. Originally developed for meteorological measurements, they were adapted for process applications where equally demanding conditions are frequently found. They quickly became acccepted as the true, on-line process water-vapor sensor. A world-class calibration facility. Performance of the moisture sensor probe has been further enhanced to take advantage of the sophisticated hardware and software of the Moisture Series Analyzers through a new, worldclass, ultralow-range calibration facility at Panametrics. This facility was developed to take advantage of the improved resolution capability of the new Moisture Image Series analyzers and probes, and to satisfy the ever increasing process-industry requirements for highly accurate measurement in the parts per billion region. The result is a true ppb v scale for the Moisture Image Series 1 and 2.

The Panametrics TF Series Three-Function Probe, with sensors for moisture, temperature and pressure, can be used alone or as the sensor for the Moisture Image Series Probe. Ultralow range ppb v scale. The ppb v low range of the Moisture Image Series 1 and 2 analyzers is made possible by employing three separate, but equally important, technologies. First, the sophisticated new microprocessor-based Moisture Image Series probe has 16-bit resolution, allowing it to detect very small changes in sensor impedance and thus, moisture level. Second, a sensor design that improves sensitivity and repeatability in the ppb moisture region is now available. When combined with VCR compatible fittings, this sensor provides superior performance in ultrahighpurity systems. Third, in combination with the new, ultralow-range calibration facility, a new Z-calibration technique improves calibration accuracy in the moisturelevel region from 1 ppb v to 1 ppm v. The combination of these three enhancements makes the new Moisture Image Series the most accurate analyzers for parts per billion level measurements available today. Moisture sensor When all possible factors for buying new moisture analysis instrumentation are considered, the new Moisture Series Analyzers from Panametrics become the obvious choice.
