WARRANTY: This light fitting is covered by a 12 month warranty; please retain proof of purchase and evidence of installation by a licensed electrician. INTRODUCTION: The Security Light incorporates a PIR (Passive Infrared) sensing device which continuously scans a preset operating zone and immediately switches the light on when it detects movement in that area. This means that whenever movement is detected within the range of the sensor, the light will switch on automatically to illuminate pathways, steps, patios, porches or whatever area you have selected to light for reasons of safety, convenience or security. While there is movement within range of the unit the light will remain on. WHERE TO FIT YOUR SECURITY LIGHT: To achieve best results, we suggest you take into account the following points: Ideally the security light should be mounted 1.8 to 2.5m (6 to 8 ft) above the area to be scanned (refer Fig. 1A) To avoid damage to unit, do not aim the sensor towards the sun. To avoid nuisance triggering, the sensor should be directed away from heat sources, such as barbecues, air-conditioners, other outside lighting, moving cars and flue vents. To avoid nuisance triggering, keep away from areas of strong electromagnetic disturbance. Do not aim towards reflective surfaces, such as smooth white walls, swimming pools etc. The security light scanning specifications (max 12meters and approx. 180º) may vary slightly depending on the mounting height and location. The detection range of the unit may also alter with temperature changes. Before selecting a place to install your security light, you should note that movement across the scan area is more effective than movement directly toward or away from the sensor and not across, the apparent detection range will be substantially reduced ( refer Fig. 1C) INSTALLATION AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS: Must be installed by a Licensed Electrician. Must be installed according to the current wiring rules AS/NZS3000. Do not exceed the maximum wattage rating.

2 INSTALLATION DIRECTIONS: Take care not to pull any electrical wires during unpacking as this may damage the connection. Layout all the components on a smooth surface and make sure there is no component s missing before assembling. Check whether the fitting has been damaged during transport. Do not operate/install any product which appears damaged in any way. Return the complete product to the place of purchase for inspection, repair or replacement. Ensure all power has been isolated for your own safety. The fitting is rated to IP44, which means it is protected against splashing water from any direction. 1. Select a suitable location for installation. Ensure the fitting is not installed next to any air vents and is not in any moist or damp areas. 2. This fitting must be earthed. 3. Run the wiring as the following diagram (Fig. 2) using clamp connectors supplied, and ensure that the gasket is in position. Please double check the correct connections after wiring, the metal base must be connected to the earth terminal. 4. Attach the security floodlight to the mounting plate. 5. Insert the PAR38 globe (not supplied). Please include the rubber gasket supplied. 6. Loosen all lock nuts and screws on lamp-holders before making any adjustments. Please do not loosen the joints more than necessary to disengage the meshing teeth or the internal wiring may be damaged. 7. Turn on power and enjoy your new lighting product. TIPS: 1. To avoid injury or damage to the fitting, ensure that power leads and screws are secure before connecting the power. 2. Handle the fitting with care to avoid breakage. 3. When changing or cleaning bulbs, turn the power OFF and allow to cool. Do not touch bulbs with bare hands, use gloves or a tissue.

Find a suitable location away from liquids and hazards. 6. Ensure that the fitting does not come in contact with corrosive chemicals, etc. 7. To clean, wipe with a damp clean cloth. Never soak the fitting with water. UNDERSTANDING THE CONTROLS (Referring to Fig. 3): ADJUSTING THE TIME DURATION The length of time that the light remains switched on after activation can be adjusted from approximately ten seconds to four minutes. Rotating the TIME control anti-clockwise will reduce the duration time. Note: Once the light has been triggered by the PIR sensor any subsequent detection will start the timed period again from the beginning. ADJUSTING THE LUX CONTROL LEVEL: The lux control module has a built-in sensing device (photocell) that detects daylight and darkness. Rotating the LUX control anti-clockwise is from light ( ) to dark ( ). The ( ) position denotes that the flood lights can work at day and night, and the ( ) position only work at night. You can set to operate the unit at the desired level by adjusting the LUX control. ADJUSTING THE SENSITIVITY: The sensitivity means the max distance which the PIR sensor can be triggered. Turn the SENS control clockwise to increase sensitivity and anti-clockwise to reduce it. SETTING THE CONTROLS: 1. Put the LUX control to light ( ) position, turn the wall switch on and wait half a minute for the control circuit to stabilize. At this stage ensure that the TIME control is set at minimum duration time (rotating the TIME control anti-clockwise to stop-position). The security light will now switch on and remain on for about 30 seconds ( within 60 seconds) 2. Direct the sensor toward the desired area to be scanned by adjusting the elbow joint and swivel joint on the sensor arm. Important: loosen all lock nuts and screws on sensor and lamp holders before making any

4 adjustments, failure to do so could cause damage to the fitting. 3. Have another person move across the centre of the area to be scanned and slowly adjust the angle of the sensor arm until the unit sensors the presence of the moving person, causing the flood lights to switch on ( refer Fig. 1B & Fig. 1C) Note: The sensor will work much more effectively if the item you want detected is passing across the sensor beams, rather than heading directly towards the sensor. 4. Adjust time control to required setting. 5. To set the light level at which the flood lights will automatically switch on at night, turn the LUX control from daylight to night. If the flood lights are required to switch on earlier, e.g. dusk, wait for the desired light level, then slowly turn the LUX control towards daylight symbol while someone walks across the centre of the area to be detected, when the flood light switch is on, release the LUX control. You may need to make further adjustments to achieve your ideal light level setting. HOW TO CHANGE MANUAL CONTROL MODE: 1. When the power is on, the PIR sensor enters into the WARM-UP periods for about 1 minute, then automatically change into AUTO MODE. 2. During AUTO MODE, by switching the installed light switch OFF then ON again within 4 seconds will automatically change the sensor into MANUAL MODE from AUTO MODE. In MANUAL MODE, the flood lights will remain ON, and will not be affected by duration time and LUX control level. 3. To reset back to AUTO MODE, turn the light switch off for at least 10 seconds. Important: To avoid dust build-up and ensure proper functioning of the security light, wipe the sensor lens

5 lightly with a damp cloth every 3 months. Never attempt to modify the unit, there are no user serviceable parts inside. Any attempt to modify the fitting will void the warranty.
