1 DESIGN RANGE Mark Douglass is an established glass artist, sculptor and painter whose professional career started in His works often use scale and fluidity to create poignant organic forms. In 2011, Mark was awarded the Winston Churchill Trust Fellowship in recognition of his impressive body of work and contribution to the Australian glassblowing industry. He is committed to his discipline and constantly strives to create new styles. As of late 2015, he has set up Melbourne Glassworks which has been involved in several fellowships to promote young artists and craftspeople. In 2010, Mark s focus shifted, becoming fascinated with light and he developed the early stages of the Design Range. He was obsessed with function and the forms created with light, resulting in a high degree of ambition, not only as a product of light, but rather the careful balance of form and function.

The drama of this piece is magnified by its number and most effective when hung in tiered clusters. This piece is also popular and striking when hung in front of bathroom mirrors as a single light source. Brave and outgoing, each piece does not conform to an exact form, rather finding its own shape during its creation. The Pebble is most effective when hung in proximity to its own style, highlighting its eccentricity and individuality; although it is not without its charms as a singularity - bizarre and beautiful. 21 DESIGN RANGE PENDANT LIGHTING All prices shown are inclusive of a 1.6m flex cord (black, dark grey, clear), roof canopy (black, white, chrome, gun metal) and the fixtures (chrome, black). Globes and transformers are not included and are priced individually. White ceiling plates (for clustering lights) can also be purchased at an additional cost. FIXTURES Our lights use standard Edison Screw ES (E27), SES (E14) or G4 Bi-pin fittings dependent of the size of the glass. The ES (E27) and SES (E14) are rated to a maximum of 60-watts globes and the G4 Bi-pin to a maximum of 20-watts globes. VARIATIONS Due to the glass being handcrafted and handblown, variations can be created, although these adaptations will need to be discussed by appointment and will be at an extra cost.
