4 PROTEON is reliable... THERMAL MANAGEMENT is critically important to achieve the reliability expected from LED lighting. Extreme temperatures, both hot and cold, are common in high bay environments and can have a negative impact on the performance of electrical components. Using the most advanced computer modeling available, our engineers incorporated metal only where it is most efficient. They also used electronics that actively respond to the environment providing optimal light output without sacrificing life. This fixture intelligence allows the PROTEON LED high bay to operate in a wide spectrum of temperatures ranging from -13 F (-25 C) to 131 F (55 C), ensuring years of trouble-free operation. THROUGH CONDUCTION AND CONVECTION heat is transferred away from temperaturesensitive components. Aluminum conducts heat three times greater than steel making it the ideal heat sink material. The PROTEON LED fixture uses an aluminumextruded housing weighing 22 lbs. with more than 2500 square inches of surface area. This robust heat sink reduces the temperature of electrical components and thermal stress caused by frequent switching that is common with occupancy sensors. In addition, slots in the side of the luminaire allow cooler air to enter as warmer air escapes through vents in the top of the luminaire. 6 7

To achieve optimal performance and reliability, the PROTEON LED fixture uses a custom light engine specifically designed for the high-lumen requirements of high bay lighting.... and accessible Electrical components are securely mounted to a removable, maintenance-friendly tray. Using pluggable connectors, this sliding electrical tray can be disconnected from the LED boards for quick removal. Driver and surge protector are securely mounted to removable electrical tray. Harnesses used extensively to connect drivers, LED boards, surge protector, sensor and primary power connection. Dimming and emergency lighting leads located directly beneath access plate for easy location of auxiliary wires during installation. LED DRIVERS: Each LED driver operates with one LED board. This allows the LED board to send signals to its unique driver to achieve peak performance. Drivers operate from volts standard. 347V and 480V options are available. 0-10V dimming leads are standard on each LED driver. Variable dimming range performs from 100% to 10%. LED BOARDS: High-brightness LEDs are driven at a conservative drive current (.35 max rating) to achieve the highest lumens per watt with the least amount of heat possible. Dynamic temperature-sensing feature continuously monitors board temperature and drive current to ensure LEDs and board components do not exceed rated temperature. e. Optional emergency battery pack provides a minimum of 90 minutes of light during primary power failure. It is especially important in high bay applications where forklift operators or athletes must look toward the ceiling. The PROTEON LED fixture comes standard with a semi-diffuse lens to reduce glare and LED image. For additional glare control, a highly diffuse lens is available.... and precise ADVANCED OPTICS AND LED TECHNOLOGY produce unprecedented control of light distribution. Through the use of custom, highly efficient reflectors, the PROTEON LED fixture delivers light precisely on task. Four optical choices accommodate aisles or open spaces with mounting heights ranging from 15 to 40 feet. Each reflector is die-formed to ensure precise and consistent light distribution. Fixture-level controls are reliable and ship from the factory to eliminate costly field installation. OCCUPANCY CONTROL PER FIXTURE in AISLEWAYS Occupancy sensors commonly reduce power consumption by more than 50% in a warehouse application. PROTEON LED offers several operational sequences once vacancy is detected: Light turns off completely Light dims to a fixed low level Light initially dims then completely turns off after an additional period of vacancy EMBEDDED SENSORS 360 sensor shipped integrated into PROTEON LED high bay housing.
