2 Introducing Makower UK new collection: Tutu by The Henley Studio Quilt designed by Heidi Pridemore Pillow finished 20" x 20" Cutting Directions Note: Read assembly directions before cutting patches. Borders are cut to exact length required plus ¼ seam allowance. WOF designates the width of fabric from selvedge to selvedge (approximately 42 wide). Fabric A Cut (1) 16 ½ square. Fabric B Fabric C Cut (2) 2 ½ x WOF strips. Cut (2) 2 ½ x WOF strips. See instructions to cut (2) inner slippers. Roughly cut out each template about ⅛ outside the drawn lines. Press each template onto the wrong side of the fabrics as listed on the templates. Cut out each template on the drawn lines. Refer to the quilt photo to arrange and press the inner slippers, outer slippers, and bows onto the 16 ½ Fabric A square (Diagram 1). Fabric E Backing See instructions to cut two outer slippers. See instructions to cut two bows. Cut (1) 14 x WOF strip. Sub-cut the strip into two 14 x 20 ½ strips for the back. You will also need: Fusible Web Pillow Form 4. Diagram 1 Finish the raw edges of each shape with a decorative stitch such as a buttonhole or satin stitch to complete the Shoe block. Page 2 of 6 Page 2 of 6 Download free instructions

3 5. Sew one 2 ½ x WOF Fabric B strip and one 2 ½ x WOF Fabric C strip together to make one BC strip set. Repeat to make a second BC strip set. Sub-cut the strip sets into (18) 2 ½ x 4 ½ BC strips (Diagram 2). Cut 18 C B 8. Pillow Back Instructions: To make the back envelope flaps, turn under the 20 ½ edge approximately ¼, press and repeat to make a finished edge on one edge of the 14 x 20 ½ back piece. Topstitch to hold the finished edge in place. Repeat with the second 14 x 20 ½ back piece. 6. Diagram 2 Sew (4) BC strips together, end to end, to make (1) side border (Diagram 3). Repeat to make a second side border. Sew (1) side border to each side of the Shoe block. 9. Position and pin the each back envelope flap, right sides together with the pillow front, overlapping the finished edges in the middle and aligning the raw edges with the pillow front (Diagram 6). Stitch around the pillow front and back to complete the pillow. Diagram 3 make 2 7. Sew (5) BC strips together, end to end, to make (1) top/bottom border (Diagram 4). Repeat to make a second top/bottom border. Sew the borders to the top and to the bottom of the Shoe block to make the pillow top (Diagram 5).
