35 Organic and Mineral Risers - Technical specifications and cleaning instructions Organic Risers Because the materials used are organic in nature (i.e leaves, branches and twigs) it is natural for them to alter slightly in appearance over time. Natural materials are also subject to inherent inconsistency in color, texture and shape. Slight delamination on saw cut edges is also to be expected. Mineral Risers The metallic interlayers (ie. copper, silver, gold) may alter slightly in appearance over time due to ageing of the metallic materials. Cleaning instructions Like all thermoplastic resin materials, the Organic and Mineral Risers should be cleaned periodically. A regular, seasonal cleaning program will dramatically help prevent noticeable weathering and build up of dirt. La Tavola recommends the use of common cleaning products such as: Windex, Formula 409, Simple Green, Fantastik, Virex, 10:1 Water/Bela H Solution. Rinse the panels with lukewarm water (be careful not to expose edges of organic or fabric interlayers to water). Remove dust and dirt from the panels with a soft cloth or sponge and a solution of mild soap and/ or liquid detergent in water. A 50:50 solution of isopropyl alcohol and water also works well. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Always use a soft, damp cloth to blot dry. Rubbing with a dry cloth can scratch the material and create a static charge. Never use scrapers or squeegees on the Risers. Avoid scouring compounds, gasoline, benzene, acetone, carbon tetrachloride, de-icing fluids, lacquer thinner and other strong solvents.
