2 WELCOME TO DIVERSITY SUMMIT 2018 Thank you for joining PGE today as we bring together Northwest business, government and community thought leaders to support diversity, inclusion and equity. These issues are even more relevant today than they were in 2000, when PGE hosted the first of seven regional diversity summits. Our theme for this year s summit Equity and the Economy is especially important as organizations and communities look to ensure that all people feel valued, safe and included. Today is about sharing ideas and building partnerships, while learning from nationally-recognized experts about the critical role equity plays in a healthy community and thriving economy. It s important to acknowledge that this is challenging work, and we are all learning. Often there are no easy answers. But it s also rewarding, as we expand our thinking, exchange ideas and uncover new strategies. I want to thank our sponsors for their commitment to diversity and inclusion. Shahid is passionate about leveraging philanthropy, technology, venture capital and the media to drive social change. As the founding CEO of the Malala Fund and founder of The Collective Group, Shahid is focused on supporting startups, innovators and entrepreneurs who are creating positive global impacts. 1 p.m. Afternoon Keynote: Steve Robbins Founder, S.L.
