1 Innovation Panel Tony Miller CEO, Bind In the late 1990s, Tony Miller co-founded and was CEO of Definity Health, a pioneer and national leader in consumer-driven health benefit programs. Definity was sold to UnitedHealth Group in In 2006, he founded Carol Corporation and served as its CEO until the company s sale to Optum. He currently serves as CEO of Bind. Tony holds an MBA from Cornell University s Johnson Graduate School of Management, an MS in kinesiology from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, and an undergraduate degree from St. Olaf College. He previously served on the boards of ABILITY Network, Digital Reasoning, PlanSource, Recondo Technology, Sandlot Solutions, and Shareable Ink. Marco Diaz Senior Vice President, Global Head of Benefits, News Corp Marco Diaz is the Senior Vice President, Global Head of Benefits for News Corp. He is responsible for setting the overarching US benefits strategy in conjunction with the various business divisions with oversight to UK and Australian operations as well. Benefits include a broad suite of Health & Welfare plans, retirement plans such as defined contribution, defined benefit, and non-qualified. Prior to News Corp, Marco worked for Thomson Reuters 2000 where he oversaw the Americas benefits function. Tom Beauregard Executive Vice President & Chief Innovation Officer, UHG Tom Beauregard is the Executive Vice President and Chief Innovation Officer of UnitedHealth Group. As a member of the core leadership team, Tom identifies strategies to extend sustainable coverage for all Americans and leads the Enterprise Research and Development team that develops and launches meaningful innovations. He is a noted health care industry expert with broad strategy and implementation experience. Recent innovation accomplishments include a National Diabetes Prevention Program in partnership with the Y-USA and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, an evidence-based childhood obesity solution, and a reality TV-based diabetes prevention program (Project NOT ME) that earned Tom a regional Emmy for his role as an Executive Producer. Tom previously served as the CEO of a UnitedHealthcare business (United Essentials), where he was responsible for research and new product development. In this role, Tom s team conducted extensive employer and consumer research and developed related programs and products that extended appealing and affordable coverage to targeted employer and consumer segments. Tom s team has launched several highly innovative solutions that include new breakthroughs in affordable coverage solutions, advanced consumer choice models, value based incentive models, and portable insurance solutions. Prior to joining UnitedHealth Group, Tom was the National Practice Leader for Hewitt Associates, a global management consulting firm. Tom has over 25 years of health care leadership experience and is one of the industry s leading experts on the forefront of dramatic change. Tom is a graduate of Hobart College s economics program and earned an MBA from the University of Connecticut. He lives in Connecticut with his wife and four children.

Bringing a multitude of specialty health and managed care experience, Karin is leading Progyny s employer benefits products. Her mission is to expand employer coverage of infertility services by providing a solution that is a win/win for employers, patients, and clinicians. Prior to joining Progyny, Karin was CEO of US Imaging for eight years, and previously served as CEO of CarePlus Health Plan, a managed care plan in NY, where she led the organization from inception in 1996 through its sale in Karin also serves on the boards of Autism Learning Partners, a national autism provider services company, and Citra Health, a leading healthcare technology company. In 2017, Karin was selected as one of New York Business Journal s Women of Influence. She has a master s in Public Health from Columbia University and is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. Cardiac & Diabetes Risk Jim Pursley Chief Commercial Office, Livongo Jim Pursley is responsible for Livongo Health s commercial efforts and go-to-market strategy, including sales and strategic partnerships. He played a similar role at EosHealth. Prior to joining EosHealth, Jim ran global sales and marketing for Care Innovations, an Intel-GE company where he also served as General Manager of the Independent Living business segment at Care Innovations overseeing the launch of three new products, including Care Innovations first direct-to-consumer offering in healthcare. He was also on the original team involved in the formation of Care Innovations in 2011, where he provided strategic leadership and market expertise to help launch the new company. In addition to his role at Care Innovations, Jim has served on the Board of Directors for the Technology Research for Independent Living (TRIL) Centre in Ireland and as a Commissioner for the Center for Aging Services Technology (CAST) in Washington, DC. Jim joined the executive team of Care Innovations having spent 10 years at GE most recently serving as General Manager of Sales and Marketing for GE Healthcare s Aging Services business, a new venture created to address the challenges of global aging. Jim holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Sciences and Information Systems from Penn State University and a Master in Business Administration from Northwestern s Kellogg School of Management. He is also Six Sigma Green and Black Belt trained.

3 Maria Walsh Director, Global Employee Benefits, Nielsen Maria Walsh is the Director, Global Employee Benefits for The Nielsen Company. Maria has nearly 20 years in global health care and retirement plan management. Maria has been with Nielsen since 2007 and is responsible for the strategy, design, administration, and communication of Nielsen s benefit plans globally. She has guided Nielsen to an increasing emphasis on well-being initiatives and embedding a culture of health at Nielsen. Prior to joining Nielsen, Maria was a Health Plan Strategy Manager for Citi. Before joining Citi, Maria worked in the financial services industry where she managed employee benefit and HR Policy design. Maria graduated from Drew University with a B.A. in Political Science. Sean Duffy Co-founder and CEO, Omada Health Sean Duffy is the Co-founder and CEO of Omada Health, a digital behavioral medicine company dedicated to inspiring and empowering people everywhere to live free of chronic conditions like heart disease and type 2 diabetes. In 2017, Omada was recognized as one of Fast Company s Most Innovative Companies and in 2016, the company was named a Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum. 4 Mike Payne, MBA MSci Head of Commercial & Policy, Virta Health Mike has a 20-year career in healthcare, working across almost every sector and with companies of all sizes. Mike is known as an innovator in the commercialization of evidence-based, digitally-empowered health interventions. Mike currently serves as the Head of Commercial & Policy at Virta Health, whose online clinic provides the first treatment proven to reverse type 2 diabetes without medications or surgery. Mike oversees sales, marketing, account management, policy & government affairs, and research at Virta. Prior to Virta, Mike created and grew the commercial strategy and operations of Omada Health, the country s largest digital diabetes prevention program. As Omada s first Chief Commercial Officer, Mike was responsible for the company s work with Health Plans and risk-bearing Health Systems, Employers, Government & Medical Policy, Medical Affairs, Corporate Strategy, and Business Development. Mike led Omada s efforts to secure Medicare reimbursement for digitallydelivered Diabetes Prevention Programs (DPP), announced in early Mike previously worked at Gilead Sciences and McKinsey & Company, and holds an MBA from Stanford Business School as well as an MSci in Health Services Research from Stanford Medical School. Behavioral Health Dickon Waterfield Chief Commercial Officer, Big Health Omar Dawood Chief Medical & Sales Officer, Ginger.io Dickon is the Chief Commercial Officer at Big Health, the world s first digital medicine company. He joined Big Health in 2014 and has been instrumental in shaping and bringing its first product, Sleepio, to the employer market in the US. Dickon's background is in management and strategy consulting having spent the early years of his career at Monitor Group and Accenture advising pharmaceutical and medical device companies on their commercialization strategies. Omar is a clinician and stage IV cancer survivor with over 25 years of senior management, medical research, and clinical experience. Omar currently serves as the Chief Medical & Sales Officer for Ginger.io, a company that was founded at the MIT Media Lab six years ago with the mission to improve behavioral health care by applying AI and machine learning. Over the past two decades, Omar has served as an officer and senior strategic advisor in both public and private healthcare and medical device companies including Accuray, Kona Medical, and Samsung, leading transformative change and disruptive innovation across a number of segments in healthcare. Omar holds a B.A. in Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania, an M.P.H. with concentration in cancer epidemiology from Yale University, an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an M.D. from the Georgetown University School of Medicine. He went onto residency training in surgery and radiology and a fellowship in interventional radiology at the University of California San Francisco.

5 David Harrison, MD U.S. Medical Director, Best Doctors David Harrison, MD, is the U.S. Medical Director for Best Doctors. As the leader of the many physicians at Best Doctors, he ensures the highest quality in our clinical services, organizational infrastructure, and service line processes. In addition to his work with Best Doctors, David is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. He is currently an attending physician at Massachusetts General Hospital and practices primary care at MGH s satellite location in Everett. David received his bachelor s degree from Harvard College, Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa, and then earned his medical degree at Harvard Medical School. He trained in the Harvard Combined Medicine/Pediatrics Residency. Musculoskeletal Gabriel Mecklenburg MSc MPh Founder & Head of Care Pathways, Hinge Health Hassan B. Azar Senior Vice President of Total Rewards, US Foods Gabriel has been passionate about joint health ever since a ligament tear ended his days on the Judo mat. Originally from Germany, he graduated top of his class at the University of Cambridge, and went on to research musculoskeletal regenerative medicine at Imperial College London before co-founding Hinge Health. Hassan B. Azar is the Senior Vice President of Total Rewards at US Foods and is responsible for the strategic direction and management of employee compensation and benefit programs, an employee service center, HR information systems, executive compensation and stock programs. Hassan previously worked at Mondelez International as the Senior Director of Global Rewards; Kraft Foods as a Director of Global Benefits; Delphi Automotive as Director, Global Compensation and Benefits; and Ford Motor Company where he managed the company s health care programs. Prior to that, Hassan worked as a Senior Health Care Consultant with Towers Perrin in Boston and worked for Blue Cross of Michigan. Hassan began his career as an administrator at St. John Hospital in Detroit. Hassan has a Master degree in Business Administration, a Master degree in Health Services Administration and a Bachelors of Arts from the University of Michigan. He also has a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Detroit School of Law. He is currently pursuing a Master s degree in Communications at the University of Michigan.
