KENNEY BriAn F. kenney was sworn in on september 1, he filled the vacancy created by the retirement of the honorable stephen s. mitchell. 3:15-4:15 pm ASSET PROTECTION TRUSTS HOW TO MAKE THEM AND HOW TO BREAK THEM Judge kenney was a principal in the Tysons Corner office of miles & stockbridge, P.C., a 200-plus attorney firm with offices in maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. he represented creditors, debtors, and bankruptcy trustees in the Eastern District of Virginia, and elsewhere, since becoming a member of the Virginia state Bar in Judge kenney also was certified as a business bankruptcy specialist by the American Board of Certification. he has served two terms as President of the northern Virginia Bankruptcy Bar Association, and served on its Board of Directors. Further, Judge kenney had served two terms on the Virginia state Bar Board of Governors for the Bankruptcy section of the state Bar. Judge kenney had served as an Alexandria Division representative on the standing Committee on Local Bankruptcy rules for the U.s. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. 5 NEAL LEVIN neal LEVin is the Team Leader of the Firm's Fraud and internal investigations Practice Group and a member of both the Litigation and Bankruptcy and Financial restructuring Practice Groups. 3:15-4:15 pm often compared to mr. wolf from Pulp Fiction, neal is most notably summoned when the case "stinks." known fondly as "The Fraud Guy," he contends with a litany of fraudsters and fraudulent transactions, including those stemming from bankruptcy fraud, occupational fraud, corporate governance fraud, government corruption, insurance fraud, bank fraud, mortgage fraud, asset concealment, so-called asset protection plans, offshore financial centers and, of course, Ponzi schemes. his practice is international in scope and he has appeared in dozens of different tribunals over the course of his nearly 23 years in the business. neal and his team also focus on the psychology of fraudsters as a means of leveraging their success.
