2 IIoT World Tour Kick-off Event Turin The IIoT World Tour brings together the cross-industry knowledge of the Industrial Internet Consortium and the manufacturing expertise of Plattform Industrie 4.0 to accelerate the digitalization of industrial production, at a rate unattainable by any single organization. The first event of the 2017 IIoT World Tour Series takes place in Turin, Italy, where we have partnered with Comau S.p.A to showcase our ongoing collaboration and the activities of the local initiative, Piano Industria 4.0. The kick-off event is sponsored by QualiCal. The event will consist of morning executive keynote addresses and panel discussions, afternoon briefing sessions, an executive panel on Testbeds, Test Labs and Competence Centers, plus networking opportunities. Plattform Industrie 4.0 Plattform Industrie 4.0 is the central network in Germany to advance digital transformation towards Industry 4.0. In close cooperation with politics, industry, science, associations and trade unions, over 300 stakeholders from 159 organizations are actively involved in the platform. The platform develops and coordinates information and networking services to raise awareness on Industrie 4.0 solutions among companies and to deploy them on-site. As one of the largest international and national networks, it supports German companies particularly medium-sized companies in implementing Industrie 4.0. 5 Keynote Speakers Carlo Cella Chief Executive Officer, QualiCal Carlo Cella graduated from the Bergamo University with a degree in Finance. He specialized in Financial Intermediation and transferred his experience and passion to QualiCal since its foundation in As QualiCal CEO he plays a key role in QualiCal development at the side of his father Gian Mario, President of the Company. In the first 20 years of QualiCal he contributed to expand and consolidate the world-wide industrial assets of the company with a primary focus on the Emirates, India and in the Far-East. Fascinated by the challenges of Industrial Internet and the opportunities of innovations that digitization can generate in the lime industry, he is promoting QualiCal DIGITAL Corporate vision supporting the fast growth of the Company. He is promoting the vision of the LIME GLOBAL BRAIN: an ecosystem of worldclass partners who share his belief that lime customers benefit at the intersection of information technology and operations technology. Edoardo Cella Chief Digital Officer, QualiCal Edoardo Cella approached QualiCal in 2009, on the occasion of an internship program with the University of Bergamo, developing his knowledge quickly in plant commissioning and the technical and technological assets of the company, thanks to direct site experience. He actively joined the company in 2011 in the role of Quality Control, Process Engineer and Data Scientist. He is part of the Technical Team which is promoting the #neverstopinnovating Corporate R&D program, in charge of assets commissioning, finetuning and post assistance. Edoardo was recently appointed as QualiCal CDO to lead the IIOT development program, QualiCal DIGITAL, with the mission to give visibility to the industrial assets of the Company by connecting the physical and digital, moving lime plants closer to the lime production experience and promoting this new wave of innovation in the whole ecosystem of client and sub-supplier. He graduated from University of Bergamo with degrees in Mechanical Engineering. 5
6 Pasquale de Leo Head of Customer Services, Digital Factory and Process Industries & Drives Divisions, Siemens Pasquale De Leo is Head of the Customer Services organization for the Digital Factory and Process Industries & Drives Divisions of Siemens. He is also responsible for the Go to Market of MindSphere, the Siemens Operating System for the Internet of Things (IoT). Previously to these positions he held different roles in Sales and Marketing both in Italy and Germany with focus on Automation Systems and Industrial Human Machine Interface. Mauro Fenzi CEO, Comau S.p.A. CEO at Comau part of FCA Group since Before, he was General Director and from 2010 to 2012 he managed the Comau North America Division in Michigan. He also held management roles in other divisions, including Body Assembly, Painting and Powertrain Systems and initiated the corporate-level PMO. Prior to joining Comau, he held technical and commercial positions in the Aerospace and Petrochemical sectors, always working for large multinational corporations specialized in Advanced Automation technologies. Mauro has held seminars on robotics technologies and change management at many Universities and Business Schools. He is currently a member of the Milan Polytechnic Scientific Foundation Committee. He is the author of Project and People Management an Operational Guide published globally by McGraw Hill in Italian, English and Chinese. Stefano Firpo Director-General for Industrial Policy, Competitiveness and SME's, Italian Ministry of Economic Development Stefano Firpo is Director General for Industrial policy, Competitiveness and Small and Medium Enterprises at the Italian Ministry of Economic Development. His main tasks concern the design and implementation of Italy s policies to boost industrial competitiveness, including the newly-launched Industria 4.0 -Plan. He is also member of the Prime Minister s task force on Economy Policy and national SME Envoy. Previously, he was Chief of the Italian Minister of Economic Development s Technical Secretariat. He designed the Italian strategy on innovative startups and SMEs and contributed to the Destination Italy report on attracting foreign investment as well as to several of Italy s recent major economic reforms under the Finance for Growth Group. In the past, he worked as an Economist at the European Central Bank and as Head of the Chief Executive Officer s Staff office at Intesa Sanpaolo Banking Group. 6
7 Thomas Hahn Chief Expert Software, Siemens AG, Plattform Industrie 4.0 Thomas Hahn has been Chief Software Expert at Siemens AG since After studying computer science at Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen, he joined the company in 1986 and worked as a product developer in the field of industrial networks in Erlangen. In 1993 he moved to Nuremberg, where he worked in product management for SIMATIC, and as a project manager he was responsible for development of SIMATIC STEP 7. From 1997 he worked as Head of Development at Traffic Control Systems in Munich for two years. In 1999 he returned to Nuremberg, where he was Head of Software Development for Industrial Automation Systems. He held this post until In addition to his function as Chief Software Expert, he was Head of the Business Analytics and Monitoring technology field from 2011 to August Beyond his activities at Siemens, Thomas Hahn is a member of various board committees, including the OPC Foundation, Big Data Value Association, Openlab CERN and Plattform Industrie 4.0. Dr. Robert Plana Director of Innovation and Ecosystems, GE Digital Dr. Robert Plana was appointed as a full professor at Toulouse University and Institut Universitaire de France in 2000 where he brought significant contributions to Internet of Things Technologies. From 2004 to 2013, he has occupied numerous top management positions at CNRS, National Research Agency and the Ministry of Higher Education and Research. He joined Alstom Group in January 2013 as a R&D university relations director where he is in charge of coordinating the R&D and innovations activities across Alstom group and stimulating open innovation with Universities, Research Organizations and Start-ups. He has also contributed to the creation of numerous public-private joint laboratories and incubators in the field of Power Electronics, Smart Grid, Smart City and Digital Energy and Transport. In Alstom he has initiated the Industrial Internet roadmap and he has participated in the preparation of European KIC project Advanced Manufacturing Systems. He is now with General Electric since November 2015 where he is the Innovation and Ecosystem Director of the GE Digital Foundry in Paris. 7
8 Dirk Slama Vice President and Chief Alliance Officer, Bosch Software Innovations Dirk Slama is Vice President and Chief Alliance Officer at Bosch Software Innovations. Bosch SI is spearheading the Internet of Things (IoT) activities of Bosch, the global engineering group. Dirk is also representing the Bosch Group in the Industrial Internet Consortium, where he is currently a member of the IIC Steering Committee. Dirk has over 20 years of experience in very large-scale distributed application projects and system integration, including SOA, BPM, M2M and most recently IoT. His international work experience includes projects for Lufthansa Systems, Boeing, AT&T, NTT DoCoMo, HBOS and others. Dirk is a frequent speaker at conferences, as well as co-author of four successful books, including Enterprise IoT. He holds an MBA from IMD Lausanne as well as a Diploma Degree in Computer Science from TU Berlin. Dr. Hans-Jörg Stotz Senior Vice President, SAP Dr. Hans-Jörg Stotz is Senior Vice President for IoT Strategy & Innovation within the IoT development organisation of the SAP Products & Innovation board area. His unit is responsible for IoT Strategy, Standards & Open Source, Customer Co-Innovation and IoT Research. He coordinates SAP s political engagements in the areas of Industrie 4.0 and Internet of Things. He is Sherpa for Bernd Leukert, Board Member of SAP, and represents SAP in the Steering Committee of the Plattform Industrie 4.0 of the German Government and of the Allianz Industrie 4.0 in Baden-Württemberg. He joined SAP in 2005 and since held positions in Corporate Strategy, Product Management, Innovation Management and Development Operations. 8
9 Overview Briefing Sessions Briefing Session #1 - Security The Security Briefing Session will discuss the challenges and progress in the area of securing Industrial Internet systems. The session is a platform to share insights and expertise in ensuring safety, security and functionality of machines and other assets. Briefing Session #2 - Standardization and Interoperability The Standardization and Interoperability Briefing Session will offer insights and overviews of work underway in identifying standards and proposing them to standards bodies. Collaboration on standards accelerates interoperability across domains and is a primary focus of coordinated efforts around the globe. Briefing Session #3 Testbeds / Test Labs / Competence Centers The Testbed / Test Labs / Competence Centers Briefing Session is intended to give the audience a high-level overview of the work underway, outcomes to date and plans for the future in the testbeds, test labs and competence centers around the world. Briefing Session #4 - Architecture The Architecture Briefing Session will provide the co-leaders an opportunity to share their organizations progress in developing and applying reference architectures to industrial systems, best practices learned and any related methodologies and tools in progress or available today. 9
10 Piano Industria 4.0 Italy has developed a National Industry Plan 4.0, Piano Industria 4.0, based upon the following guidelines: operate in an environment of technological neutrality, intervene with horizontal and sectoral actions and act on enabling factors.
