1 SPEC.RARE.CMS.18 Clarence Edward Andrews Papers Creator: David Snodgrass Title: Clarence Edward Andrews Papers Date: Quantity: 7 folders, 100 items Description: Correspondence, pictures, newspaper clippings, and identification that had belonged to Clarence Edward Andrews. Introduction: Clarence E. Andrews was a graduate of Yale (1906), and taught at both Yale and Amherst before becoming Professor of English at The Ohio State University in He served in the United States Air Corps in World War I, and traveled widely after the war, writing travel books as well as poetry and textbooks. He died in 1932 at the young age of 49 after fighting influenza and pneumonia. The collection includes lists of objects that were collected by Andrews and loaned to other institutions. The current status of those collections is not known. In addition there are documents and genealogical materials that we can only assume belonged to Andrews, since the remainder of the collection focuses on him.
