4 Sponsoring Education for Daughters of Mr. Ali Mr. Ali is an Imam of a masjid, lives in a small society situated in Paposh graveyard, Nazimabad. His total income is Rs. 12,000 out of which, he pays Rs. 6,000 as rent of the house. He has four daughters; two are studying in a government college and the two are studying in a government school. We have raised the donation up to Rs.70,000. This money will be used to pay the fee expenditure of his daughters who we have decided to admit in a private coaching center to improve their quality of education. 6 Shoemaking Items for Mr. Noor Khan Mr. Noor khan was a waiter at a local dhaba and is the only one in his family to earn. He has a family of 3 which includes his mother, father and younger brother. We arranged Rs. 11,500 as funds to buy him the items for his work as a cobbler. 7 Fixed Roof Issues for Mr. Moinuddin We helped out Mr Moinuddin because roof of his house was made of low quality material and was constantly had him and his family of 4 troubled. He also mentioned that the area he lived in was not safe at all as there were a lot of gang wars happening in the area and the bullets would often penetrate the previous roof and enter his house. Therefore, we collected donations to help him fix his roof with concrete and solid material. 8 Confectionary for Ms. Rubecca Ms. Rubecca is unemployed, lives in Saddar and is the mother of two daughters. As she is a single parent and the only bread earner for her family she doesn t have a regular source of income. We decided to provide her with employment by utilizing her baking skills for assisting one of the group members in her confectionary business which she started a month ago. 9 Vegetable Cart for Mr. Muhammad Tahir Mr. Tahir is a labor and works as a vegetable seller. His wage is 300 per day. He lives in Qayyumabad. Students arranged a Cart with inventory worth Rs. 21,700/- at a crowded area i.e. C Area in Qayyumabad. Cart costing Rs. 12,700 and Rs for other Expenses. 10 French Fries Cabin for Zohaib Ali Mr. Zohaib has been diagnosed with kidney stones, was a labour and has a family of three children and a wife. With unfavorable health conditions, he was unable to work for long hours or work that requires much energy. We decided to help him so he can support his family decently and arranged Rs. 17,200 as funds through friends and family to buy him a cabin and other goods for a French Fries stall. Cabin (second-hand) = 9,000 Fryer Machine (second-hand) = 2,500 Gas Cylinder = 3,000 Other goods and expense = 1,900 The rest of the amount (800) was given to him for other expenses Funds Raised and Donated: Rs. 17,200 /- Ayaz Mehmood Ghumro & Sahil Luhana
11 Tea Stall for Mr. Amanullah Khan Mr. Aman ullah Khan is 21 years old. He is from Peshawar. His parents are with him. He played football for National bank and worked as a tea maker in the past. We got Aman a cylinder of gas and utensils including a set of four chairs and a table. Utensils (second hand) were worth Pkr and Gas refill cost was Pkr The stove was worth Pkr and Pkr for rent of the place. Funds Raised and Donated: Rs. 33,000 /- Zoha Imran & Haris Fatah
12 Rickshaw for Mr. Haq Nawaz Haq nawaz is a very poor person, having a family of 4 persons including two daughters and a wife. He used to drive a rickshaw that was old and its rent was high. He was going through a financial crisis. To help him, we approached many people to donate some money, so one of my friend s uncle Mr. Majid Mir who is a trade manager in L OREAL donated us this money and we bought rickshaw for Haq Nawaz. 13 Sewing Machine for Shahida Khatoon Rupees15,000 was left from the Haq nawaz rickshaw purchase. The students used that money to buy two sewing machines and donated them to a poor lady Shahida Khatoon. She is a very poor lady and has a family of 5 persons, including 4 daughters. Her husband passed away 3 years ago and she earns for her family by sewing clothes. She had old and damaged machines, so we donated her two machines, one for her and other one for her daughter. 14 Onions and Potatoes Cart for Mr. Yameen Mr. Yameen works as my driver but for paying off some heavy debt he needed another source of income as well. He has three children and a wife to take care of. He has been doing many temporary jobs in the past during the time off from our duty. We arranged a cart with inventory worth Rs. 20,400. He will be selling onions and potatoes currently at Jamshed road but will shift to some other place if needed. Cart cost was 6400 and 7000 each was allocated for buying potatoes and onions as well. 15 Purchased a Bike for Raza Raza is a young teenager whose father is ill and is unable to earn anything for his house. Raza since then had a major responsibility of earning for his family of 5 members. He got a job but it required a motorcycle since the work was mostly logistical. We got a second hand bike for him through donations, out of which PKR 11,000 were donated by Shaheen Computers. 16 Sewing Machine for Ms. Shabana Shabana works as a maid in different houses in North Nazimabad. Her husband was a drug addict who sold all the valuable of the house including Shabana s sewing machine since she was a tailor by profession. After the death of her husband, she spent all her savings on her husband s funeral and was left with nothing for her family (Children). 17 Small Nursery for Mr. Ishaq Mr. Ishaq is unemployed and is a gardener by profession. He has a younger brother who lends a hand occasionally. He does not have a regular source of income and wanted to start something of his own. Students arranged land through reference of a friend on rent of Rs 6000/-. Arranged Sand worth Rs 2000 (half dumper) and 6000 for other Expenses so that he can set up a small nursery of his own. 18 Fries Cart for Mr. Khattak Khan Mr. Khattak is unemployed and lives in Al-Asif Square. Father of four, doesn t have a regular source of income. Students arranged a Cart with inventory worth Rs. 26,000/- at the crowded area of North Nazimabad. Cart costing 23,500 and 2500 for other Expenses. 19 Clothing Line for Ms. Mairaj Mairaj is a 35 year old single mother. Being recently divorced and unemployed she was having trouble providing for her children all on her own. Students helped Mairaj by encouraging her to join Al Rehman Stitching Centre for a training course. This course costed 3500 for a month. After which they bought her a stitching machine which costed Lastly, made a page on Facebook to spread awareness of her work. 2 kurti s stitched by Mairaj were purchased for 1500 each. 20 Restored Small Shop within a House for Mr. Navaid Mr. Navaid Ahmed a is poor resident of Malir. He runs his small shop from within his house, in a room that has door towards the road. Due to his poor financial situation, he was looking for some external investment for the shop to restock it. We got him the ration and other sellable items such as snacks and candies from the local wholesaler together with renovation and installing of new shelves. Expenses were, 6,200 for the shelves from local carpenter and 4,800 for the restocking. Funds Raised and Donated: Rs. 11,000 /- Raheel Elahi, Yasir Junaid Ahmedani, Maira Gul
21 French fries stall for Mr. Hafeez Noor Mr. Hafeez was unemployed. He lives in Akhtar Colony. His brother is a waiter at a catering company. Father of one, he didn t have a regular source of income. We arranged a stall with inventory worth Rs. 20,750/- at the crowded area of Defence Phase 7. Stall costing Rs. 14,500 (including tyres) and Rs. 6,250 for other Expenses. Funds Raised and Donated: Rs. 20,750 /- Muhammad Uzair Haroon, Abdus Sami Tabassum
22 Clothes and Books for the Underprivileged (Wall of Hope) I set up a clothing and books wall near a Basti at Johar Hill Road, where residents were unemployed mostly. Neighbors and friends agreed to donate clothes and children s books on a monthly basis. 2 volunteers have been gathered to assist children with reading the books. Cost occurred for Hanger 700 and Spray paints 500. All was self financed and the donation was in form of books and clothes. Funds Raised and Donated: NIL /- Zulnorain Ali
