3 SPEAKERS Benoît Lory Trade Section, EU Delegation to China and Mongolia Davide Follador Long Term Expert - IP Key Benoît Lory, is currently Minister Counsellor IP Attaché at the European Union Delegation to China. Previously he was worked at the European Commission, in Directorate General for Trade, as the Policy Officer responsible for intellectual property issues with China, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Mongolia. He was also responsible for IPR enforcement issues in third countries and participated to the activities of the EU Observatory on infringement of intellectual property rights. He has also worked for 14 years for the French and the European Trademarks Offices. He is a lawyer graduated from the College of Europe in Belgium and from the University of Rennes in France. Davide Follador is one of IP Key's Long Term Experts based in Beijing. He is responsible for coordinating the legal component focusing on trademarks, copyright, geographical indications and IP enforcement in general. He served as First Lieutenant of Carabinieri (Italian Police Corps with Military status) and subsequently obtained full marks Master of Laws in International Commercial Law. He is qualified European Trademark and Design Attorney (OHIM) and admitted to the Milan BAR. Mr Follador has been practicing IP law since 2001 and specialised in cross border EU-China Intellectual Property matters, working for major international law firms in Europe and China, where he previously also acted as an expert for the EU-CHINA and ASEAN IPR SME Helpdesks.

4 Maria Chiara Ferrarese R&D and Business development Executive Manager-CSQA Certificazioni Srl Simone Calzi Head of Legal and International Affairs Department Simone Calzi Ms Ferrarese has been working on certification services since 1999, currently at CSQA Certificazioni Srl, the most important Certification Body in Italy specialized in agri food sector. She brings in-depth knowledge on the EUs food safety standards and quality schemes. She has extensive experience in creating new standards especially for voluntary product certification. While working on research & development for agri-food and packaging, cosmetics and wellness sectors, she has taught at numerous professional training courses, and has rich experience in consulting and lecturing on certification services. Simone Calzi is Head of Legal Office at the Consorzio del Prosciutto di Parma, the Association of Parma Ham producers. He is responsible for the Parma Ham Protection all over the world, especially referring to the markets where the product is sold. The enforcement activity focuses mostly on PDO (Protected Denominations of Origin) infringements, trademarks registration and oppositions. He coordinates the surveillance activity conducted by Parma Ham inspectors also together with Public Authorities. He also provides assistance to companies on certification matters and is specialized in EU and third country labelling requirements. He has been focusing his studies and professional activity on Geographical Indications protection since 2002, also cooperating with Parma University School of Law. He is admitted to the Italian BAR.

5 Lionel LALAGÜE BNIC - Protection de l'aoc et Accès aux Marchés Currently Director of GI Protection & Market Access at Bureau National Interprofessionnel du Cognac (BNIC) since June He is in charge of protecting the Geographical indication Cognac and the Trademarks owned by BNIC, by prevention & litigation, managing a network of more than 40 attorneys around the world. He is in charge of facilitating market access for Cognac exporters, with particular focus on labelling, taxes and Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) issues. He contributes to the design and implementation of Cognac international cooperation strategy and secures BNIC s international communication and advertising. He currently teaches in several training courses such as the Master of Law of Vine and Wine from Bordeaux University. He has developed extensive expertise on Geographical Indications in the field of bilateral and multilateral negotiations. Tatiana Métais Legal Expert Legal and International Department INAO Tatiana Métais works for INAO, the French competent authority regarding geographical indications. She currently is legal expert in the field of international protection of Geographical Indications and implementation of Protected Denominations of Origin in the wine sector. She also represents INAO at the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV) as expert in law and economy. Previously she worked at the Ministry of Finance in the International fiscal relations (tax treaty negotiation, French representation at OECD and international cooperation). She is graduated in Business Law from the University of Cergy (France), from the Sorbonne Graduate Business School in Business Administration and from the Business School of Dijon in International Wine business.

6 Emmanuel Brotelande Communication & Export Manager Consortium du Jambon de Bayonne Pierre-Emmanuel Brotelande is in charge of PGI Bayonne Ham Communication and Export development at the Bayonne Ham Consortium since This association gathers all the actors of the Bayonne Ham industry, from the pork farmers to the Bayonne Ham producers. His missions consist in: - Facilitating market access to Bayonne Ham producers with particular focus on Asian (China, Japan, South Korea ) and American markets - Managing Bayonne Ham protection in relation with attorneys on selected foreign markets including China - Supporting Bayonne Ham exporters in their business development through international trade fairs, canvassing missions and press study tours. - Designing and implementing Bayonne Ham communication plan in France and on foreign markets in cooperation with the Bayonne Ham professionals. He was before working for the French National Organisation of the Pork Industry (INAPORC) as Export Project Manager to promote French pig meat products abroad. He is graduated from ISARA School of Engineer in Agriculture and Food Industry in Lyon, France.
