1 Afternoon Seminar on The Swedish Patent and Market Courts (PMD/PMÖD) experiences and observations on the first year s operation, and The long awaited Unitary Patent System in Europe and the Unified Patent Court what is to be expected and what are we waiting for? Stockholm, 23 November 2017, Westmanska Palatset Invitation FICPI SWEDEN is the Swedish part of FICPI which is an international organization, with members from more than 80 countries. FICPI works for patent and trademark attorneys in private practice, with issues relating to their daily work as well as IP law issues on a global scale. The membership in FICPI SWEDEN, forming a part of FICPI International, provides a global network of IP professionals, and a possibility to understand and participate in the development of IP law throughout the world. FICPI SWEDEN runs regular seminars in Sweden focusing on current issues and trends in IP. The speakers include FICPI members from other countries, within and outside Europe. The seminars are open to all, but FICPI members enjoy a reduced registration fee. Now, at the upcoming seminar in connection with our annual meeting, we will go back and continue to discuss: - the new Patent and Market Courts which have been in operation in Sweden for about a year, and - the new system for European Unitary Patents being still on hold. 5 16:05 16:30 Alexander Ramsay has been involved in the negotiations on the Unitary Patent Protection and the Unified Patent Court since 2008 (Swedish delegation). Took part in the Swedish Presidency of the EU in 2009 and helped broker the agreement in December 2009 on the general approach on the EU patent Regulation and the council conclusions on the UPP.
