20 Who was Cesare Cardini? According to our family, Cesare Cardini was expecting guests and forgot the salad dressing. Last minute, he threw together what we all know today as Caesar Dressing. His guests obviously enjoyed the Ceasar salad. Cesare Cardini is the great great Uncle to the grandchildren of Doris Hoover Shearer. Doris is the great great granddaughter of John Hoover, an original land owner in Orangeburg District.
