Please accept this letter as the first step towards establishing a strong and effective working relationship between your home and the school. We extend an especially warm welcome to our new parents and best wishes for an exciting and productive year in this school. We hope that you will quickly feel at home and become involved in the activities of our school through the PTA (Parent Teacher Association) and your child s classroom program. We will work diligently with parents and faculty to foster an atmosphere that promotes a learning community characterized by child centered instruction and decisions, academic excellence, trust, respect, community involvement, excellent communications, and recognition of both student and staff achievement. Working together as a team, we will move forward in our mission this school year to create a nurturing, disciplined, and challenging environment in which all students can learn at optimum levels and become responsible members of society. Additionally, this year we are modifying our curriculum to become more rigorous and exceed state standards. In doing so, we evaluated our co-teaching model and have evidenced that it has been a great success! We have seen tremendous growth in the students who participated in the program, far exceeding most state averages for single model classrooms. The assistance of two certified teachers in the classroom has allowed for the students to flourish beyond the average year in academic and social ability. We have recognized that the consistent interaction of the students with a number of their peers has allowed them to develop in character and citizenship skills. They have made many friends and discipline has been to a minimum. They have also learned the importance of a routine and how to work as a team. In recognizing the benefits of this program, we will continue to offer the co-teaching model in the primary grades. Lastly, as we continue to plan our school year, decisions have been made in an effort to soar toward a School of Excellence. In the school year, all CAD students will be required to wear the school uniform on a daily basis. The PE uniform remains the same with the exception of only navy blue trim. No PE uniform is required for the K-1 students; they will have daily recess in their regular uniform. In an effort to make the purchasing process for uniforms easier for parents, we now offer the option of visiting our school store, located at the Hollywood Campus. 8 Middle School Middle School students will receive a supply list from each teacher on the first day of class. Students will be given two weeks to bring the requested items to school.

Red Championship Academy polos and classic Championship Academy Button Shirts only. Elementary (K-5) Girls- Navy pants or skorts. No shorts will be permitted. Red Championship Academy polos and classic Championship Academy Button Shirts only. PE: (2 nd -5 th ) Boys and Girls: Navy Blue Trim Logo T-Shirt and navy shorts with Championship Logo. PE uniform can only be worn on the child s scheduled PE day. Middle School (6-8) Boys and Girls- Khaki pants only. No shorts or skorts will be permitted. Red Championship Academy polos and classic Championship Academy Button Shirts only. PE: (Middle School 6-8) Boys and Girls: Navy Blue Trim Logo T-Shirt and navy shorts with Championship Logo. PE uniform can only be worn during PE class. Students will change into their PE uniform before class and are required to change into their proper uniform once class is over. Belts: Must be worn at all times with pants and skorts that have belt loops. Belts in any solid color are acceptable. Jewelry: Earrings and studs are allowed to be worn on the ears only. All other jewelry is permitted but must not pose a threat to health or safety. Head Attire: Headbands in any solid color are acceptable. Shirts Polo type collared shirts with sleeves in solid red and classic Championship Academy white button shirts. Approved school logos must be on the shirt. Shirts must be tucked in at all times. Any undershirt worn must also be in the same approved colors. No more than the top 2 buttons may be unbuttoned. Shirts must be long enough to remain tucked in when seated. Pants/Skorts Skorts- Uniform styled in solid navy and must extend beyond the fingertips and be securely fastened above the hip bone. (Elementary girls only) Middle school boys and girls can only wear khaki pants. No other colors or styles will be accepted. Shoes/ Socks Must be closed toe and closed back. Shoes must be a matching pair. Shoes should be appropriate for school. Solid color black or white sneakers are permitted. Socks must be solid navy, black, or white. Outerwear Properly fitting cardigans, sweatshirts, sweaters and pullovers in solid navy, white or red are allowed. Small prints in those colors will be permitted. All others will not be permitted while in the school building. Book Bag Book bag in any color without wheels are permitted. Cold Weather Clause When the temperature falls 50 degrees or below students may wear dress code slacks or school approved skort with leggings under (elementary girls only)
