In exercise of the powers conferred by section 10, read with section 74 of the Indian Post Office Act, 1898 (6 of 1898), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Indian Post Office Rules, 1933, namely: 1. (i) These rules may be called the Indian Post Office (Amendment) Rules, (ii) They shall come into force on the first day of In the Indian Post Office Rules, 1933 (hereinafter referred to as the said rules), in rule 5, for sub-rule (1) and sub-rule (2), the following sub-rules shall be substituted, namely:- 5(1) The following rates of postage shall be chargeable on the postal articles to be sent by surface where the postage is pre paid, namely:- TABLE Sl.
