4 My sincerest thanks to all of you who helped make our Antique Paper Round-Up such a fun and successful event. My hat is off to Carole Bess White and David Elston for all the many hours of work to make our auctions so successful. My greatest joy comes in getting to bid on and sometimes win items in our auctions. Also, I didn't talk to a single dealer who was unhappy, most took home more money than they came with and the rest were finding lots of good deals, buying more than they were selling. I took my turn at the entrance table, and didn't have time to get to visit all of the dealers. So some of you have been very kind to bring the items to me that you know I like. Paper collecting is such a lot of fun. If you didn't get to experience the fun of the silent auction closing frenzies, that would be my suggestion for next year. You never know what to expect on Sunday afternoon. Thanks to our Webfooter Twin Photographers John and James Staub for taking lots of pictures to help preserve our memories of such an outstanding series of events. The Grotto and the Kliever Armory locations have been very good for us. We exceeded our goals for making this a successful Antique Paper Round-Up. We ll be at The Grotto again next year, on April 25th. We ll return to the Kliever Armory April 26-27, Due to Easter falling on our weekend in 2014, we have scheduled our show the last week in April. We are hoping more dealers will be able to arrange their schedules to join us. Thanks again to everyone. Mark auctioneer puts in a winning bid. The 4

9 National Postcard Week 2013 The 30th Annual National Postcard Week is being celebrated May 5-11, Webfooter Demaris Elrod Swint of Alamo, Texas sent the postcard featured on our front cover to help inspire others to create a postcard for National Postcard Week. Thanks to Demaris for also including the history of National Postcard Week. Demaris says, " Promote your holiday! Let people know you collect postcards! National Postcard Week was the brain child of John H. McClintock, DeeDee Parker, Roy Cox and Richard Novick, among others. It began in 1984 as a way to promote our hobby. In the early years, most of the postcards were made by the many clubs around the country and few individuals. Today, most are made by individuals and there are fewer clubs.
