1 CHANGES TO IBPAOU15.DBF (FROM IBPAOU14.DBF) BASED ON AOU (2015) This file documents all changes to species names and codes to IBPAOU15 (from IBPAOU14) performed in July These changes are based on changes to species and nomenclature as recorded in the 56th Supplement to the AOU Checklist, made available online by the AOU in July In all cases additions and changes were thoroughly cross-checked for new conflicts and for the release of old conflicts. Unless stated it can be assumed that no new conflicts occurred. Inserted: Egyptian Goose (Alopochen aegyptiaca) (after Orinoco Goose); NUMB=01555, CAT=1, SPEC=EGGO, ORD=1, SPEC6=ALOAEG, ORD6=1. Inserted: Waved Albatross (Phoebastria irrorata) (after Black-footed Albatross); NUMB=00265, CAT=3, SPEC=WAVA, ORD=2, SPEC6=PHOIRR, ORD6=1. ORD1 code (WAAL) conflicts with that of CAT=2 species Wandering Albatross. Changed: Herald Petrel (Pterodroma arminjoniana) to Trindade Petrel, SPEC from HEPE to TRPE. Change results in new conflict with CAT=3 species Tropical Pewee (below). Inserted: Herald Petrel (Pterodroma heraldica) (after Trindade Petrel); NUMB=00265, CAT=2, SPEC=HEPE, ORD=2, SPEC6=PTEHER, ORD6=1. Inserted: Zino's Petrel (Pterodroma madeira) (after Fea's Petrel); NUMB=00397, CAT=2, SPEC=ZIPE, ORD=1, SPEC6=PHEMAD, ORD6=1. Changed: Puffinus auricularis newelli (Newell's Shearwater) to Puffinus newelli, PNO (species/non-species code) from 2 to 1, SPEC6 from PUFANE to PUFNEW. Inserted: Whistling Heron (Syrigma sibilatrix) (after Intermediate Egret); NUMB=00397, CAT=3, SPEC=WHHE, ORD=1, SPEC6=SYRSIB, ORD6=1. Changed Buteo magnirostris (Roadside Hawk) to Rupornis magnirostris, SPEC6 from BUTMAG to RUPMAG, and re-ordered to follow Barred Hawk. Changed Buteo albicaudatus (White-tailed Hawk) to Geranoaetus albicaudatus, SPEC6 from BUTALB to GERALB, ORD6 from 2 to 1, and re-ordered to follow Harris's Hawk. Change results in release of ORD61 code BUTALB to Zone-tailed Hawk (below) Changed: SPEC6 for Buteo albonotatus (Zone-tailed Hawk) from BUTALN to BUTALB, ORD6 from 2 to 1, due to release of conflict due to change of Buteo albicaudatus to Geranoaetus albicaudatus (White-tailed Hawk), above. Re-ordered: 12 species and one subspecies of Buteo into order plagiatus, nitidus, lineatus, ridgwayi, platypterus, solitarius, brachyurus, swainsoni, albonotatus, jamaicensis, j. harlani, lagopus, regalis.
2 Changed: SPEC for Common Redshank from COMR to CREH, ORD from 2 to N, based on ORD2, ORD3, and ORD4 conflicts with Common Redstart (below). Inserted: Dusky Pigeon (Patagonias goodsoni) (after Short-billed Pigeon); NUMB=05475, CAT=3, SPEC=DUPI, ORD=1, SPEC6=PATGOO, ORD6=1. Changed: Leptotila cassini (Gray-chested Dove) to Leptotila cassinii. SPEC6 (LEPCAS) remains the same. Inserted: Mexican Hermit (Phaeothornis mexicanus) (after Green Hermit); NUMB=07608, CAT=3, SPEC=MEHE, ORD=1, SPEC6=PHAMEX, ORD6=1. Inserted: Inagua Woodstar (Calliphlox lyrura) (after Bahama Woodstar); NUMB=08553, CAT=3, SPEC=INWO, ORD=1, SPEC6=CALLYR, ORD6=1. Changed: Amazilia saucerrottei (Steely-vented Hummingbird) to Amazilia saucerottei. SPEC6 (AMASAU) remains the same. Re-ordered: Laughing Falcon to follow Collared Forest-Falcon. Re-ordered: Rose-ringed Parakeet, Rosy-faced Lovebird, and Budgerigar (in that order) to follow Imperial Parrot. Replaced: Rusty-backed Spinetail (Cranioleuca vulpina) with Coiba Spinetail (Cranioleuca dissita), SPEC with COSP (from RBAS), ORD with 1 (from 2), SPEC6 with CRADIS (from CRAVUL). Change results in release of ORD1 code RBSP to Rufous-breasted Spinetail (below) Changed: SPEC for Rufous-breasted Spinetail to RBSP (from RBRS), ORD to 1 (from 2), due to release of conflict with SPEC due to removal of Rusty-backed Spinetail (above). Changed: Xenopipo holochlora (Green Manakin) to Cryptopipo holochlora, SPEC6 from XENHOL to CRYHOL. Re-ordered Manakin genera to: Chiroxiphia, Corapipo, Cryptopipo, Lepidothix, Manacus, Dixiphia, Ceratopipra. Species within genera remain in same order. Changed: SPEC for Tropical Pewee to TROP (from TRPE), ORD to 2 (from 1), due to new conflict with SPEC of CAT=2 species Trindade Petrel (above). Inserted: Bicolored Wren (Campylorhynchus griseus) (after Giant Wren); NUMB=13785, CAT=3, SPEC=BIWR, ORD=1, SPEC6=CAMGRI, ORD6=1. Inserted: Common Redstart (Phoenicurus phoenicurus) (after Taiga Flycatcher); NUMB=14447, CAT=2, SPEC=CRET, ORD=N, SPEC6=PHOPHO, ORD6=1. ORD1 code (CORE) conflicts with that of CAT=1 species Common Redpoll; ORD2 (COMR), ORD3 (CRED), and ORD4 (CONR) codes conflict with those of Common Redshank (above).
3 Re-ordered: Genera Nesospingus, Phaenicophilus, Calyptophilus, Rhodinocichla, Mitrospingus, and Spindalis, in this order (and species within each genera in same order) to follow Thraupidae tanagers (below). Re-ordered: 32 genera of Thraupidae (and species within each genera in same order, with exception of Ramphocelus and Sporophila, below) according to the list in the AOU supplement. Changed: SPEC6 for Hemithraupis flavicollis to HEMFLA (from HEMFLC), ORD6 to 1 (from 2), due to release of conflict by name change to Hemignathus flavus (below). Re-ordered: Species in genus Ramphocelus to sanguinolentus, flammigerus, passerinii, contaricensis, dimidiatus. Re-ordered: Species in genus Sporophila to lineola, funerea, crassirostris, nuttingi, corvina, schistacea, torqueola, nigricollis, minuta. Changed: Spizella arborea (American Tree Sparrow) to Spizelloides arborea. SPEC6 (SPIARB) remains the same. Changed: SPEC for Lanai Hookbill to LANH (from LAHO), ORD to 2 (from 1), due to new conflict with SPEC of Laysan Honeycreeper (below). Changed: Vestiaria coccinea (Iiwi) to Drepanis coccinea, SPEC6 from VESCOC to DRECOC. Changed: Hemignathus munroi (Akiapolaau) to Hemignathus wilsoni, SPEC6 from HEMMUN to HEMWIL. Changed: Hemignathus obscurus (Lesser Akialoa) to Akialoa obscura, SPEC6 from HEMOBS to AKIOBS; and Hemignathus ellisianus to Akialoa ellisiana, SPEC6 from HEMELL to AKIELL. Changed: Hemignathus virens (Hawaii Amakihi) to Chlorodrepanis virens, SPEC6 from HEMVIR to CHLVIR; Hemignathus flavus (Oahu Amakihi) to Chlorodrepanis flava, SPEC6 from HEMFLS to CHDFLA, ORD6 from 2 to 3; and Hemignathus kauaiensis (KAUAI Amakihi) to Chlorodrepanis stejnegeri, SPEC6 from HEMKAU to CHLSTE. The change in SPEC6 code for Hemignathus flava resulted in release of ORD6=1 HEMFLA for Hemithraupis flavicollis (above). The new SPEC6 code for Hemignathus flava is ORD6=3 CHDFLA due to pre-existing conflicts in the ORD61 and ORD62 codes (CHLFLA and CHLFLV) with those of Chlorospingus flavopectus, Chlorospingus flavigularis, and Chlorophonia flavirostris. Changed: Hemignathus sagittirostris (Greater Amakihi) to Viridonia sagittirostris, SPEC6 from HEMSAG to VIRSAG, and moved to position following Kauai Amakihi. Re-ordered: 20 Genera in Drepaninae (and species within each genera in same order), according to the list in the AOU supplement.
4 Changed: Greater Akialoa (Akialoa elisiana) to Oahu Akialoa, SPEC to OAKI (from GAKI). ORD 1 and 2 codes (OAAK and OAHK) conflict with those of Oahu Akepa (below). ORD continues as 3 and this change results in no other release of conflicts with former ORD=1 (GRAK) or ORD=2 (GREA) codes. Inserted: Kauai Akialoa (Akialoa stejnegeri) (after Lesser Akialoa); NUMB=19745, CAT=2, SPEC=KAAK, ORD=1, SPEC6=AKISTE, ORD6=1. Inserted: Maui-nui Akialoa (Akialoa lanaiensis) (after Greater Akialoa); NUMB=19753, CAT=2, SPEC=MNAK, ORD=1, SPEC6=AKILAN, ORD6=1. Changed: Nukupuu (Hemignathus lucidus) to Oahu Nukupuu, SPEC from NUKU to OANU. Inserted: Kauai Nukupuu (Hemignathus hanapepe) (after Maui-nua Akialoa); NUMB=19757, CAT=2, SPEC=KANU, ORD=1, SPEC6=HEMHAN, ORD6=1. Inserted: Maui Nukupuu (Hemignathus affinis) (after Oahu Akialoa); NUMB=19763, CAT=2, SPEC=MANU, ORD=1, SPEC6=HEMAFF, ORD6=1. Changed: Akepa (Loxops coccineus) to Hawaii Akepa, SPEC from AKEP to HAAK. Inserted: Oahu Akepa (Akepa wolstenholmei) (after Akekee); NUMB=19843, CAT=2, SPEC=OAKE, ORD=3, SPEC6=LOXWOL, ORD6=1. ORD 1 and 2 codes (OAAK and OAHK) conflict with those of Oahu Akialoa (above). Inserted: Maui Akepa (Akepa ochraceus) (after Oahu Akepa); NUMB=19847, CAT=2, SPEC=MAAK, ORD=1, SPEC6=LOXOCH, ORD6=1. Inserted: Laysan Honeycreeper (Himatione fraithii) (after Oahu Akepa); NUMB=19895, CAT=2, SPEC=LAYH, ORD=3, SPEC6=HIFRA, ORD6=1. ORD2 code LAYH needed due to conflict of ORD1 code (LAHO) with that of Lanai Hookbill (above). Other Changes and Corrections Reordered: Clapper, Aztec, and King Rails (to this order) to amend previous sequence error. Replaced: Scientific name for Western X Glaucous-winged Gull hybrid to "Larus. occid. x glauces." (from "Larus. occid. x gluaces.") to amend previous typographical error. Replaced: NUMB for Scripp's Murrelet to (from 02540) to amend previous oversight. Replaced: species names for genus Psittacara to holochlorus, strenuus, chloropherus, and mitratus (from feminine gender...a in all cases) to amend previous oversight. Replaced SPEC6 for Aratinga nenday (Nanday Parakeet) to ARANEN (from NANNEN) to amend previous oversight.
5 Replaced SPEC for Zeledon's Antbird to ZEAN (from IMAN) to amend previous oversight. Replaced: NUMB for Taiga Flycatcher with (from 14450) to amend previous entry error. Inserted: Subspecies Pink-sided Junco (Junco h. mearnsi) (after Oregon Junco), NUMB=18320, CAT=1, SPEC=PSJU, ORD=1, SPEC6=JUNHME, ORD6=1 to accommodate outside request.
