1 Fall Passerine Migration Monitoring The 24th fall season began daily 20 August at our primary passerine banding station. This site is a barrier beach ridge along the southwest shore of Lake Erie. Operations are conducted daily weather permitting from mid-august to mid-october. Twenty-six nets are run from ½ hour before sunrise to at least 11:00 AM. Only raw data (i.e., uncorrected for effort) are presented here, all of these data should be considered provisional. They are presented here for general interest, not as scientific analyses. Includes first/last capture, peak capture, new banded total, and the total for the species. Last date is only included if the species main migration has passed through the region. totals bold if surpassed year totals, blue if surpassed average, and red if record year. Bird Movement: Light movement so far with little favorable winds. First real movement occurred on the 3 rd with a major thrush arrival. Continued thrush movement through mid- September. First major front arriving evening of the 10 th. Excellent movement in thrushes and warblers began on the 12 th. Hugh movement began on the 21 st. Largest capture of Blackpoll Warblers ever at the station. Migration winding down diversity wise in later part of October.
