Project Principles and Reasons From the past 1993 to 2013 under the CPF encourages Thai people to grow mangrove Project, more than 300,000 mangrove trees were planted. In 2014, CPF expanded the project to be Grow Share Protect the Mangrove with the collaboration with Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR), Biodiversity-Based Economy Development Office (Public Organization) and Civic Network to support and promote the conservation of soil water forest and biodiversity under the concept Grow = to promote conservation-conscious, encourage the knowledge accessibility in conjunction with the mangrove plantation Share = to share experience and knowledge about participatory planting, taking care and managing Protect = to protect mangrove with the collaborative civic network The pilot project has been launched in the 5-year period ( ) at 5 strategic areas: Rayong, Samut Sakhon, Chumphon, Songkhla, and Phang Nga.

Mangrove Strategy Implementation Concept the selected area should have high impacts the impacts should be measurable the area may have existing problems such as it is the deteriorated area it is a part of national problems the selected area should be ensured that will not be destroyed later the area should be near CPF s factories or farms
2. Objectives of Mangrove Strategy 6
Objectives 1. To proactively and preventively show environmental responsibility that makes the business sustainable. 2. To expand CPF s mangrove plantation project showing substantial biodiversity results 3. To respond to GRI s environmental indicators (biodiversity) and prepare to DJSI responding 4. To respond to the organization s goal (conserving soil water forest and biodiversity) 5. To build the network of sustainable natural resource conservation
Project Period and Implementing Agencies Period is 5 years ( ) Implementing Agencies Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR): the area owner who implements conservation and restoration activities and provides consultation about baseline data collection, following-up, and evaluation. Network (communities, governmental agencies, and CPF (Bus in NGO areas)) who takes care of mangrove area Corporate CPF & BUs : budget supporting

To be an eco-system important area that is included in the national strategic plan because it is a critical area with abundant biodiversity requiring remediation 2. Not to be an area owned by a private sector, the access to the area for project implementation is not prohibited and the area should be governed by clear conservation and restoration policies 3. There should be governmental agencies and strong civic network in the area to actively participate along the project and sustainably maintain the mangrove 4. By using SWOT analysis, the result should indicate that there is an opportunity to successfully implement the project 5. The results from the project implementation should have broad impacts on stakeholders 6. The area should be suitable for mangrove plantation or governed by restoration policies such as the area with wind and wave protections or there is a chance higher than 60% to successfully plant mangrove Total score (100 scores) Weight Score (1-5)
