1 Note 1 If the Adamo's are netting 100% and netting is the most effective deterrent, how can 85% of the crop be lost? Note 2 Many of the residents of Mono have moved here to escape the noise and stress of the city and/or to be with our horses. Consideration of the residents pleasure, real estate values and equine viability, plus increased anxiety and stress due to noise is essential. Thank you. Note 3 (asked in the meeting) 1. For grape growing: what length of time constitutes the normal cannon usage? a. days, weeks, months? 2. Can a farm/vineyard be established anywhere in Ontario? (I.E. within the city limits of Toronto/Woodbridge/Mono) AND can the farmer then do as he wishes within OMAFRA guidelines. 3. COMMENT: Adamo is concerned about his profits but cares nothing about the property losses of neighbours. Note 4 (addressed in meeting) There are dog whistles which humans cannot hear. Are there bird whistles that humans cannot hear? If so, put bird whistles on full blast. If any bird lover complains, ignore them. Note 5 AFFECTS OF REAL ESTATE VALUES! Note 6 If expert says that nets are the best solution then how is it that Adamo's crop increased so dramatically from 2015 to 2016? This leads me to believe that the (up arrow) in crop is not from the bird bangers. He probably just learning how to farm more effectively.

2 Note 7 (Several questions on this - the first of which was asked in the meeting.) - Can the overheads of Tim Brooks be put on the Town Website? - If a municipality establishes a by law against bird bangers would NFPPB intervene? - If the farmer (Adamo) in writing their application to establish a winery were asked if bird bangers were to (be) used and the application was approved on that basis (no bangers), and then after the approval BB (bird bangers) were used, what is NFPPB position? - Why isn't the Niagara Escarpment Commission at this hearing. They approved the winery! Note 8 100% Netted - includes overhead or only side? Note 9 So the more varieties (of grape) the longer the season the longer the noise. Note Technology alternatives? Drones - quieter? 2. Do birds get caught in the netting? 3. Netting - needs to be done properly - responsibility of the farmer to do that measure recluctrp (couldn't make out the handwriting) 4. If all other measures used: - what is the incremental value of bird bangers? - what is acceptable rate of crop loss? 5. What was cause of loss in 2015? Improvement in 2016 all due to bird bangers? Note 11 What loss this year? Is 85% all grapes? or species specific. What were growing conditions like in 2015 versus 2016?

3 Note 12 Mr. Adamo, if you have a successful winery in Niagara, why do you need this one?... Is it to look like you are producing a "local" product?... at the neighbours' expense. Note 13 It's disturbing that (up arrow) profit is the only value at the cost of all other effects/dimensions. Rita Note 14 Wasn't the permit to allow the start up of Adamo Winery based on the promise that Bird Cannons would NOT be used? If so, why is this meeting taking place. Migratory patterns are affected!! Protected Biosphere adversely affected. Note 15 What of using Falcons, kestrels, Dogs and Cats? "Normal" farming practices are taking up a great deal of this meeting. Who cares what is Normal? It's what works for all concerned that matters! Note 16 Barb Boag 4th Line LOW TECH - Have someone ride through the vineyard from sunup to sundown on a bicycle with a tall flag on it. Used in South African vineyard and it works. Note 17 Allowing a Company to use excessive noise consistently interrupting the private lives of residents is not realistic. Coming home after a hard day at work to hear cannons go off is NOT the way folks live in the Town of Mono Note 18

4 - This noise has the following potential effects: Disrupting golfers on Hockley course Disrupt customers eating outside at Hockley Resort. Angry neighbours boycotting resort and spreading bad publicity - Is this damage worth the use of a bird cannon? - I live at Hockley and 3rd Line and can hear them through closed windows all day. Extremely stressful. - Does noise pose any potential environmental act issues with the nearby Hockley Valley Provincial Nature Reserve and Bruce Trail? Note 19 Why are we even talking about and living with this issue of bird noise cannons? Particularly as Adamo wines said they were NOT going to use cannons when they first got permission to put in the winery? Note 20 There is NO way Bird Bangers will be allowed by the residents. Begin using a combination of alternatives. Note 21 When JP uses his 85% stat is that a distortion, as though it reflects the loss for all types of grapes, sounded like the 85% was a specific section of specific grapes. Rita Note 22 Why are we allowing a company to become richer while the residents are affected in their private lives? Note 23. (Mentioned in meeting) Hire an engineer.
