Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS). he NOAA-NMFS is responsible for listing most marine species. he federal list of animals and plants is administered by the USFWS, and this list is published in 50 CFR 17 (animals) and 50 CFR 23 (plants). Additional information regarding federal listings can be located at the following websites; NOAA-NMFS - and USFWS - Please note that while the FWC has published this consolidated list of state and federally listed species for three decades, it now will be maintained and available at our agency website: It is our intent by providing the list in this manner that we will be able to maintain a current list that is more readily available to the public.
