1 Seychelles Bird Records Committee Adrian Skerrett, Michael Betts, John Bowler, Ian Bullock, David Fisher, Rob Lucking & John Phillips The following records were accepted in December 2017 and January 2018 Tufted Duck Aythya fuligula One female at the pool, Kempinski Resort, Mahé on 25 November December 2017 (E. Urbanski, S. Hugheston-Roberts. J Millett, AP Skerrett, M Betts). This is the second record for Seychelles. Photo: Adrian Skerrett Wilson s Storm-petrel Oceanites oceanicus Five on 8 April, 3 on 19 April, and 2 on 26 April 2017 at shallow shoal off north of D Arros Island (C Keating Daly). Treated as separate records, this raises the number of accepted Seychelles records to 16. White-faced Storm-petrel Pelagodroma marina At least two, possibly up to four, 12 miles east of Desroches on 18 May 2017 (P Nogués, A Fernández). This is the sixth record for Seychelles. Eurasian Bittern Botaurus stellaris One adult at the hydroponics area, Frégate from 12 or 13 October to at least 16 October 2017 (J van de Crommenacker, M van Dinther). One at the eastern garden, northern littoral hedge, rec centre, D Arros on 28 October to 2 November; found dead at eastern garden on final date. (C Keating Daly, B Luckman). Sooty Falcon Falco eleonorae or F. concolor One 2cy filmed at Cousin, precise date unknown, in February 1971 (G Edwards). This is the 9 th record accepted by SBRC, but chronologically it is the first record for Seychelles. White-breasted Waterhen Amaurornis phoenicurus One adult at Felicite Island from October 2013 or earlier until at least May 2017 (S Hill, S Ratnayake). This is the 2 nd record for Seychelles. Caspian Plover Charadrius asiaticus One male at Providence, Mahe on 20 October 2017 (S Agricole). One 1cy at the lawn near the main house pond, D Arros on 23 October 2017 (C Keating Daly).
