DIAMONTEX PRIMING OVERVIEW From thickener to powerful DIAMONTEX Primer The DIAMONTEX series offers a broad spectrum of synthetic thickeners for all areas of application. These allow significantly sharper contours and greater brilliance compared to alginate-based alternatives whilst reducing the risk of bacteria. To comply with specialised ecological criteria, the DIAMONTEX range also includes acrylamide-free thickeners. The typical standard components such as sequestering agents, defoamers, wetting agents and ph buffers are of course part of the DIAMONTEX modular system and complement the thickener in the primer formulation. When you combine these with special additives for sharp contours, high fastness values, intensive colours, a soft touch as well as reduced urea need, you have created the basis for an innovative product already at the priming phase. 11 DIAMONTEX INKS OVERVIEW In developing the DIAMONTEX Inks, we drew on the company s many years of experience in the development and production of ink for other applications. The inks comply with all environmental standards. We have succeeded in developing an ink range that is ideally suited to the DIAMONTEX modular system and can be used in either fourink or eight-ink systems. The inks are individually adjusted to the respective print heads. This ensures optimum printing results. The water-based inks in the DIAMONTEX series offer numerous options in individual colour space design. The brilliant colours in combination with the DIAMONTEX Primer produce extraordinary printing results. Customised inks are possible for individual colour requests. DIAMONTEX CYAN DIAMONTEX YELLOW All colour gradients are possible DIAMONTEX MAGENTA DIAMONTEX BLACK DIAMONTEX CLEANER (special cleaner for digital printing machines) DIAMONTEX P Water-based pigment inks for digital textile inkjet printing DIAMONTEX S Water-based sublimation inks for digital textile inkjet printing DIAMONTEX R Water-based reactive inks for digital textile inkjet printing DIAMONTEX CLEANER Special agent for the cleaning of digital printing machines Zschimmer & Schwarz DIAMONTEX 11
DIAMONTEX INKS DIAMONTEX P DIAMONTEX P is a universally applicable printing solution for a variety of textile fibres such as cotton, polyester, blends or special materials. The water-based pigment inks are available in yellow, magenta, cyan and black as well as in special colours like green, orange, scarlet or blue. DIAMONTEX P pigment inks combine a reliable printing performance with easy handling and cleaning. The different shades available impress with their outstanding fastness to washing and rubbing on different kinds of substrates. The easy and short process is an additional decisive advantage of using pigment inks in digital textile printing. BENEFITS One ink for different substrates Excellent light fastness Outstanding fastness to washing (at least washing processes at 60 C) Very good rub fastness, especially wet rubbing Reliable printing performance, easy handling and cleaning Short and easy printing process PRINTING WITH REACTIVE INKS INKJET- PRIMING DIGITAL PRINT STEAMING AFTER- TREATMENT FUNCTIONALI- SATION PRINTING WITH PIGMENT INKS optional: PRETREATMENT DIGITAL PRINT CONDENSATION FUNCTIONALISATION 12 Zschimmer & Schwarz DIAMONTEX

DIAMONTEX INKS DIAMONTEX S DIAMONTEX S sublimation inks are water-based, environmentally friendly inks made from disperse dyes for digital transfer printing on polyester. They are especially optimised for transfer printing, but also usable for direct printing on materials with a high demand of ink penetration (e.g. printing on flags). In transfer printing the inks, which are available in yellow, magenta, cyan, and black, are printed on transfer paper. The image is then transferred onto and simultaneously fixed on the textile substrate using a heat press or calender (typically at C for sec). The DIAMONTEX S sublimation inks exhibit exceptional transfer rates with excellent colour fidelity and high contour sharpness. Likewise, optimum print sharpness and wet fastness properties are achieved in direct printing in combination with perfectly adjusted DIAMONTEX priming. In addition to the individual adaption to different print heads, special colours such as neon yellow or neon pink can be developed on request. BENEFITS Especially developed inkjet inks for transfer printing Exceptional transfer rates with excellent colour fidelity Allows transfer printing on 3D-materials Very good ink penetration in direct printing Reliable printing results PROCESS OF TRANSFER PRINTING ON POLYESTER Textile Printed fabric Heated cylinder Transfer paper Waste paper 14 Zschimmer & Schwarz DIAMONTEX

DIAMONTEX INKS DIAMONTEX R DIAMONTEX R refers to the water-based product range of reactive inks, which are compliant with all environmental standards. In addition to the primary colours yellow, magenta, cyan and black, spot colours like orange or deep red are available for expanding the colour space. The inks show excellent colour characteristics on cotton and viscose. The chemical bonding of the dye to the textile fibres produces wet-fast dyes with excellent colour brilliance. BENEFITS Water-based, environmentally friendly inks Excellent colour characteristics on cellulose-based materials Outstanding wet fastness Reliable printing performance STABILITY 10 Fresh ink 4 weeks at 60 C 4 weeks at 2 C 8 Viscosity [mpa*s] Shear Rate [1/s] The stability of the inks is examined by different analytical methods like, for example, measuring the viscosity. For this purpose, the formulated products are stored for a longer period under defined conditions and afterwards the analytical data are compared to the initial values in terms of viscosity stability. 18 DIAMONTEX AFTERTREATMENT AFTERTREATMENT The aftertreatment of digitally printed textiles is an indispensable process for some applications. The DIAMONTEX range offers products that have been specifically tailored to remove auxiliaries that have been applied during various stages and/or to significantly improve light, wash and rubbing fastness. DIAMONTEX SOAP DIAMONTEX FIX Complexing and aftersoaping agent for digital printing with reactive inks, which significantly improves the fastness properties and prevents redeposition of unfixed dyestuff during the washing process. Aftertreatment agent for digital printing with reactive inks, which enhances wash fastness and effects a notable improvement of wet fastness in case of dark red und navy blue shades. DIAMONTEX ECOFAP Choosing the right DIAMONTEX aftertreatment agents yields better fastness properties. The figure gives an example of the significant improvement of wet fastness on polyamide which was digitally printed with acid inks and post-treated with DIAMONTEX ECOFAP. PERSPIRATION FASTNESS without DIAMONTEX ECOFAP with DIAMONTEX ECOFAP WATER FASTNESS without DIAMONTEX ECOFAP with DIAMONTEX ECOFAP 18 Zschimmer & Schwarz DIAMONTEX
DIAMONTEX AFTERTREATMENT DIAMONTEX RESIST Reserving agent for print wash off of digital printings on polyamide that prevents the reattachment of dyestuff in rinsing baths due to its water solubility and high affinity to selected acid dyes. COMPARISON OF BACK STAINING EFFECT BY USING DIAMONTEX RESIST without DIAMONTEX RESIST with DIAMONTEX RESIST The figure shows the aftertreatment of a digital printed carpet (acid inks) with (right) and without DIAMONTEX RESIST (left). Due to its high affinity to acid dyes back staining during the wash off can be prevented, thus ensuring an optimal end result. 19
