The Type Tx canopy sizes reach from 30 to 50 square meters, or 320 to 540 square feet. As all the Uhlmann umbrellas, they are safe and easy to operate. A perfect choice when a strong and durable weather shade is required. The wind resistance of the Tx umbrellas is the next best to our StrongWind models. We have field tested them in summer rain storms with winds up to 70 kilometer, or up to 45 miles per hour.

14 Uhlmann Large Umbrellas - Overview The Frame The Mechanics The Uhlmann telescopic umbrella design, with crank lever operation, is exceptionally strong. Two types of mechanisms ares used on the different models. On the Type T, Tx and StrongWind models the supporting arms are welded to the main flange. The bottom supporting disk is welded to the main pole. High grade materials used in the frame ensure longevity, high wind stability and trouble free operation. Flexible and strong mast (by design and construction) is complemented with arms that are reinforced for increased rigidity. All the joints are manufactured from the highest quality stainless steel. All re-enforcing arms are individually replaceable for easy serviceability. Adjustable main arms assure taught canopies and easy installation and removal of the canopies from the frame. White powder coating (RAL 9016) is standard. Optional RAL colors include black, bronze, gray and silver. Optional wood and marble finishes are also available The types TL and TLx operate with a slider. The slider is connected to the telescope with two stainless steel wires. The telescope and the slider are moving together, enabling the very easy operation of the umbrella. The Drive The drive crank handle locks the spindles automatically in every opening/closing position, to prevent accidental opening or closing of the umbrella. The maintenance free gear box (built into the mast) rotates the special spindle lift that is moving the telescopic part. The telescopic part moves on high density plastic bearing, and it is guided to prevent rotation and twisting. The cranking handle is removable for ecstatic and safety reasons.

They can connect several umbrellas together to form one large canopy, or they can connect one or multiple umbrellas to a building. Our gutters are conically manufactured, and when attached to the umbrella they provide a slight decline to ensure good drainage. Threaded aluminium pipes are inserted into the material sleeves and connected together to further improve drainage. The rain gutter is attached to the umbrellas roof support by snap hooks. It is preferable that umbrellas have valances when rain gutters will be used, but they are not necessary. The side panels create an outdoor room or a protected corner from wind and rain. Especially appreciated by smokers, where indoor smoking is prohibited. Side panels can connect numerous umbrellas to provide one large protected space, or large areas can be partitioned into smaller, intimate areas using side panels. Windows of different sizes increase the room-like feeling, as customers can see outside either standing or sitting. Roll-up doors can be used for emergency exit, or to provide easy excess to a garden or court yard. The panels are easy to attach or remove. Electric quartz heating is perfectly suitable for outdoor heating. It is low-cost, safe to use and doesn t take up floor space. It provides instant and directional radiant heat that will not blow away like all other forms of heating. We install energy efficient Tansun Rio V 1500W 6.5A infrared heaters with extreme shock resistant heater elements providing up to 5000 hours service life. Warm light provides an ambience outdoors that most people appreciate. OSRAM Dulux Brik EL 9W or OSRAM Lumilux Brik EL 8W light fixtures are available on our umbrellas. Being eye-catching and appealing, it provides advertising for the business and helps building a unique identity among similar establishments. The large scale colorfulprinting brings attention to products and present an excellent medium for brand advertizing also. To better serve our customers we now provide in-house screen printing up to six colors. Name and logo can appear on valances or on the canopy's roof section. Both the Dolan and Airtex fabrics are highly printable. We work only with original high resolution ESP file for the layout. The original vector graphic art work will assure the best quality result, - that we will print only after your approval of the layout and colors. Our excellent quality screen printing assures that the colors stay alive for many years.

18 Uhlmann Large Umbrellas - Installation Portable base is recommended for wind protected locations, and for locations where the existing surface can not be disturbed. Our portable bases are fully galvanized welded steel. The four corners of the frame are individually and easily adjustable to eliminate ground un-evenness. Smaller umbrellas can use castor wheels for increased portability. In-ground sleeve installation is the safest method of permanent installation on locations where pouring a concrete base is possible. Our upper and lower sleeves are galvanized steel. The upper sleeve can be powder coated to match the color of the mast. Special clamp and counter screws on the upper sleeve provide absolute vertical stability, and wings on the in-ground sleeve add to the holding strength. Base-plate instalation is applicable over a hard surface such as tile, hardwood deck, brick or pavers, - where there is a good quality concrete base of at least 4 inches under the hard surface. The base-plate is a heavy steel plate afixed over the concrete with a number of concrete screws that are supplied with the base. With sufficient counter weight almost any size umbrella can be placed on portable base. Hinges facilitate the handling of the larger umbrellas. Site planning is an important aspect of an installation. We work with our clients architect to achieve the optimal result for the location, - considering current and future requirements.
