2 Composite materials, December THE UNION S ACTIVITY The meeting with the Vice-Chairman of the Russian federation Government V. Surkov On 21 st of December there was conducted the meeting with the Vice-Chairman of the Russian federation Government the Head of RF Government Office V. Surkov for the questions of development of composite materials industry in which the executive director of the Union of Composite Manufacturers Vetohin Sergey took part. Opening the meeting Vladislav Surkov addressed to everybody with a word of salutation in which he indicated the importance and necessity of the development of the composite industry. Small report about current activity of the Ministry of Trade and Industry of RF for the questions of development of composites industry was presented by the Minister of the Industry and Trade, Manturov Denis. The deputy of the Ministry of Trade and Industry of RF, Nikitin Gleb told about key priorities and tasks of the development in details. The deputy of the Ministry of Transportation of RF Tcidenov Alexey, the Deputy Director of the Federal Agency for construction and housing and utilities infrastructure Ponomarev Ilya and the Deputy of the Ministry of Energy of RF, Fedorov Pavel reported about work for sectoral programs formation of the implementation of composite materials into the transport infrastructure, construction and energy. The General Director of OJSC Russian Railways Agarmizyan Igor, the President of Skolkovo Fund Vekselberg Viktor, the Vice- President of Skolkovskogo Institute of Science and Technology Ponomarev Alexey, the Director of Innovative and High Technologies Department of SC Bank of Development and external activity Demidov Oleg, the Board Chairman of OJSC RUSNANO Chubajs Anatoly told about the development institutes activity for supporting the industry of the production of composites and products from them. The representatives of the composite materials manufacturers, constructions and products from them told about the results already achieved in the industry as well as about the activity plans. The Executive Director of the Union of Composite Manufacturers, Sergey Vetohin, the General Director of FSUR VIAM Kablov Eugenij and the General Director of CJSC HC Kompozit Melamed Leonid performed before the participants. The meeting was also participated by the Head of the Federal Agency for technical regulation and metrology Elkin G., the Deputy of Minister of the Finance of RF Ivanov A., the Deputy of the Minister of the economic development of RF Klepach A. and Fomichev O., the General Director of OJSC «RT- Himcomposite» Sokol S., the Council of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of RF Kuteev N.

A number of instructions concerning the development questions of the composite industry were given by the results of the meeting and the Union will inform about them after their official publication. 2. NEWS OF THE TECHNICAL REGULATION The Association of Legal Entities «Union of Composite Manufacturers» developed the drafts of the interstate standards according to the program of national standardization for 2012: methods of physical and mechanical properties»; methods of durability characteristics»; methods of the resistance characteristics to the aggressive medium»; In case of interest the Association of Legal Entities «Union of Composite Manufacturers» is ready to provide the first drafts proposals of the interstate standards to prepare your remarks and proposals by these documents. The request to send the interstate standards drafts should be sent by standart@uncm.ru or by fax: 7(495) INDUSTRY NEWS Composites in the repair of the monuments of architecture The System of external reinforcement by FibARM carbon tapes the development of the Holding Company Compozit was applied in the repair of the monuments of architecture in the past construction period. The System of external reinforcement (SER) by FibARM carbon tapes was used in the repair of the objects of Permskoj Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church. SER is intended for repair and reinforcement of any construction structures. The monument of church architecture of the end of 17 century Bogojavlenskaya church in Solikamsk city founded in years was also repaired by the means of carbon tapes. This monument of architecture got serous damages. A great number of cracking was formed due to the earth specification. All of them were repaired and reinforcement by the carbon tapes FibARM Tape. The peculiarity of such repair is in fact that reinforcement by the metal is impossible to apply because of aesthetic considerations first of all. Besides it the application of concrete and metal will lead to a serious weighting of the supporting constructions what was inadmissible. The application of carbon tapes has a lot of advantages in comparison with the traditional methods of reinforcement of the construction structures by the concrete and metal. The system of external reinforcement allows significantly decreasing the budget and time for work execution. Many tones equipment is not required for their conduction. But what is most important that the repair interval with the reinforcement of the buildings and facilities with the help of carbon tapes increases up to 30 years. While the application of the traditional

4 Composite materials, December methods guarantees the operation period only for the period from 1 year to 4 years. The Board of Directors of "Severnaya Verf" approved the contract for ship bulkheads delivery for 410 mln Rubles The Board of Directors of OJSC "Shipyard "Severnaya Verf" approved the contract conclusion (delivery) with OJSC "Srendne-Nevskij Shipyard". The amount of the contract constitutes 410 mln Rubles. The contract stipulates the production and delivery of ship bulkheads from polymer composite materials. Sredne-Nevskij shipyard will organize delivery in 3 stages up to the end of OJSC "Srendne-Nevskij Shipyard" is a part of Joint Shipyard Association (JSA) and provides the complete cycle of the works for the construction of ships and vessels from lowmagnetic steel, aluminum and FRP. The production program of the factory includes the missile boats /corvettes/, mine countermeasures ships, patrol ships, work and passenger vessels. OJSC "Shipyard "Severnaya Verf" is one of the leading Russian enterprises of surface shipyard, at present time it is under the management of OJSC Joint Shipyard Association. More than 75 percent of the Russian military surface shipyard is centralized on the capacities of "Severnaya Verf". A new robotized equipment has been launched in Permskij Polytechnic University The Performance Qualification of new equipment automated complex for prepreg layout was conducted in the science and research center of the aviation composite technologies of PNRPU. This production technology of the products from composite materials is actively used in the modern aviation abroad. The machine was built by the French company Coriolis on robot base. Today this is one of a few robotized complexes brought to the industrial application. There are about twenty such machines in the world. There are no analogues in Russia. «I have been working under this project eleven years. Being the students we won the grant for realization of this technological idea. From that time I service these machines all over the world», - Jim Mikoll, the engineer of Coriolis company told. This is the most large-scale project for the last time. The machine finishes the complex equipping of the Center in which there will be worked out the designing and technological solutions for further implementation in the serial production. The science and research center of acoustic researches of development and production of composite and soundproof aviation constructions and technologies is the joint project of PNRPU and OJSC «Aviadvigatel». It includes two technological grounds the Center of aviation composite technologies and the Center of acoustic researches. The technologies of the creation of the most important composite parts for a new Russia aircraft engine PD-14 are worked out here.

5 Composite materials, December ADVERTISEMENT The conference «Modern condition and perspectives of the development of the production and application of composite materials in Russia» On November 26, 2013 in the context of the 6 th International specialized exhibition «Composite-Expo» the Union of Composite Manufacturers together with the EC «World of Expo» will conduct the conference «Modern condition and perspectives of the development of the production and application of composite materials in Russia» (MEC «Krokus Expo», Pavilion 1, Hall 1, Conference-Hall 2). In the context of the event there will considered the questions concerning the production and application of composite materials as well as indicated the main problems of the development of the Russian market of composite materials and ways of their possible solving. The representatives of the enterprises working first of all in the sphere of the production and consumption of composite materials, namely the representatives of car and tractor industry, aviation and ship building, the manufacturers of railway rolling stock and transport infrastructure, the representatives of the natural monopoly, etc are invited as the aim audience of the conference. More than 500 listeners expressed interest to the conference in Such impressive number of the listeners was reached due to WEB-broadcast of the event.
