Through the efforts of our consolidated Information Technology department, we are working to enhance and expand how technology helps us serve residents, businesses, customers, and visitors in our growing city. 4 A MESSAGE FROM COUNCIL PRESIDENT HARRELL Seattle is at the forefront of using innovative tools to better interact and engage with residents to listen and fix problems. We are also a leader in holding ourselves accountable through our Open Data and Privacy initiatives. We continue our work towards closing the digital divide by providing the necessary resources in underserved communities. The core function of City government is to work on policies for the betterment of the people and providing day-to-day core services for the wellbeing of its residents and businesses. In a day and age when everything is located on a server and is interconnected, our job as a City to serve the people is all made possible by the great work of our IT Team. 18 TIPS FOR SUCCESS Attend vendor forums and informational sessions to establish relationships with county and city service owners and staff. Keep your website up-to-date, logical, and professional in language and appearance. Take advantage of the City's consultant roster and look for prime/subcontractor opportunities that bring value to bids/proposals.
