2 The second edition of IATA Aviation Data Symposium (ADS) will take place on June 2018 at the InterContinental Hotel in Berlin, Germany. Harness the Power of Big Data for Future Success! IATA is at the forefront, leading the industry on its journey to become truly data driven. Aviation Data Symposium is the forum to share your thoughts and learn from the industry leaders on how to take full advantage of the power of big data. ADS 2017 welcomed over 450 aviation industry and data professionals from across the entire value chain and various functional domains. A truly global event with speakers and attendees from more than 40 different countries, coming together from every corner of the world to debate how the industry can leverage its vast wealth of data. Aviation business leaders and data experts voices have been loud and clear, and will form the foundation for ADS 2018 program. Building up on the topics discussed at the launch edition, we are developing the program to continue with deeper dive into the challenges and opportunities that the perfect data storm presents to the industry. 4 Plenary Sessions on June 19 and 20 The opening plenary agenda will focus on: what does it mean to be a data driven business in today s world what other data-rich industries are doing to remain relevant in a race with the brave new data and digitally native entities. LEARN how the leaders in air transport world are staying ahead of the curve, and what does it take to establish and sustain a data driven culture in a successful organization. UNDERSTAND the importance and benefits of silo-free approach to data collection and management, as well as the advantages of trust and transparency in the emerging datasharing models. DEBATE about the importance of data interchange standards, and address common pain points, particularly in view of tightening data protection and privacy regulations and ever-increasing cyber security threats. The closing plenary will look at what the future may hold. Senior industry gurus will share the path the industry should be setting itself on to catch up in becoming truly digital and data driven. Learning what others have done, or plan to do will help you set an action plan for what to do today as not to be left behind tomorrow. 6 IATA Air Transport Artificial Intelligence Lab on June 21 This 1 day add-on lab follows the IATA Aviation Data Symposium and aims to provide attendees with an overview of AI use cases in aviation. It will also provide a platform for AI solution providers and their customers to share their experiences in developing use case and implementation of AI. The purpose of this lab is to introduce AI to the air transport industry as a new and pertinent tool for doing business. Participants should leave the lab with an understanding of artificial intelligence and knowing where and how to start AI developments within their companies.

7 Track 1: Passenger Distribution and Sales The track will continue to explore challenges and opportunities discussed at the launch edition. We will deep dive into the opportunities out there, and will explore more case studies as to how airlines and industry partners are taking advantage of distribution and sales data to solve business problems from increasing revenues to enhancing customer experience and optimizing capacity. We will continue the journey in understanding as to what does it take, and what are the benefits, to break internal silos and combine desperate data sources, whether already available internally, or acquired from external sources. Leading airline experts will discuss the advantages of standardization, including IATA led development and adoption of Airline Industry Data Model (AIDM), and will cite case studies to demonstrate how AIDM can simplify inherently complex task of internal and external data interchange and normalization. Continuing on the subject of standardization, we will also have major airlines and industry partners talk about the possibilities with Open APIs and advantages of industry wide adoption of a common data interchange standard. And we will continue a more in-depth discussion on data sharing, and the implications for all stakeholder in the value chain.

8 Track 2: Safety and Operations Building on the principles discussed at the first ADS, this year will focus on unlocking the value of your data. Not all data is created equal. How does an organization sort through the vast amount of diverse data and make it useful? In this track, airlines will share, through case studies and practical examples, how they ignore the data noise to identify and continually monitor constructive Operational and Safety Performance Indicators, and develop effective dashboards. The next step is to further analyze identified areas of improvement. Advanced analysis techniques and statistical methods such as Six Sigma will be explored as leading analysts present and discuss their use in the transforming aviation. Lastly, airline experts will provide real-life examples of how study outcomes are forming initiatives that are driving significant change in the interest of improved operational and safety performance. Join us in these discussions, to take away practical tips and techniques to effectively unlock the value of your operational and safety data.

9 Track 3: Airfreight Data At last year ADS we explored how data is transforming decision making in the air cargo industry and reviewed many ongoing industry data centric initiatives essential for the Airfreight industry to move in to the digital era. This year we will focus more on how new technologies and paradigms, such as Internet of Things (IoT); artificial intelligence, blockchain and smart contracts are leveraging data to re-shape the industry. Through a series of use cases, the track will demystify these concepts and illustrate how air freight can already benefit from these technologies today. You will learn from industry experts who have successfully implemented these new technologies what they were able to achieve so far, and what next steps they envisioned for the future.

10 Track 4: Technology (Virtual) All of us heard it - data is the new crude! The problem is - no one don t really uses crude... To become useful crude oil must be refined first. This calls And crude refinement requires sophisticated technologies, infrastructure and a complex supply value chain to be in place. Data is not different - raw data will surely get the geeks exited, but it is largely useless for the business. This is unless sophisticated technologies are used to turn it to information and insights. This track will continue to address technological means of dealing with data to help run the business. This year Technology track will be virtual technology challenges of dealing with data will be discussed in a context of particular business domains, and under the umbrella the business themed tracks. Airline and aviation technology partners will be presenting case studies and will discussion technological solutions when applied to resolve business challenges specific to their areas. Virtual Technology track sessions will be specially marked on the event program.
