4 EXPERT SPEAKER BIOS VIRTUAL REALITY IN AEC Sanjay Mistry brings 20 years of user experience and sound technical, development, and business expertise. He has dedicated his career to working in the design, film, and games industries and possesses in-depth knowledge of each global market, ranging from product development to sales. Sanjay was the Global Director for the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) and Manufacturing industries at Unity Technologies, responsible for developing a new business vertical, with supporting new tools and driving revenue growth. Prior to this Sanjay was the head of sales and marketing at Shotgun Software, where he was responsible for driving global revenue growth. (Autodesk Acquired Shotgun 2014). He has also held positions at Autodesk, Softimage (Autodesk Acquired Softimage 2008), Electronic Arts, and Alias Wavefront. He has worked with the most notable brands within the Media and Entertainment industry, including Sony Pictures, EA, Disney, and Warner Brothers. Sanjay has received many accolades and was part of the development team at Alias Wavefront, the creator of Maya, when it won an Oscar for outstanding technology. During his tenure at EA, Sanjay won many British Academy of Television Arts (BAFTA) awards for games that he helped develop and is one the founding members of the BAFTA Video Games Committee and a BAFTA elected member for over 10 years. While there, Michael helped develop a revolutionary new portable three-dimensional industrial measurement technology, called the FaroArm, used today throughout the world. Following several years of in-plant development, Michael left aerospace to form Direct Dimensions, Inc. in Michael graduated from Virginia Tech with BS degree in Engineering Science and Mechanics in 1985, followed by a Masters of Engineering Administration from George Washington in 1992.

JOBSITE TECHNOLOGY Ron Perkins President, Jobsite Tech Group Ron is an active member of the Associated General Contractors (AGC). He has been involved in the AEC industry for more than three decades and has been very involved in technology deployment at the construction site for a number of years. Ron has worked directly with firms such as Autodesk, Construction Market Data, HP and as a principal of an AEC technology consulting firm which was acquired by NRI. He is a BIM and BIM in the Field Expert with credentials in most of the Autodesk suite of products. One of his most recent BIM solutions was the use of drones for site survey. U.S.CAD is the largest Autodesk Authorized Gold Reseller Partner in the Western US and specializes understanding customers and helping them integrate BIM, sustainable design and digital prototyping technologies within their organizations. GENERAL CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY Daniel Shirkey Sr. Director of Technology and Operational Improvement, Balfour Beatty Construction. Daniel s focus in this role is Lead business improvement through the use of new technology, innovation and lean implementation. Daniel has managed BIM and Lean implementation on both CM and Design- Build projects ranging from $6 to $220 Million. Additionally, Daniel is an adjunct-professor at San Diego State (SDSU) where he teaches Virtual Design and Construction to Civil and Construction Engineering students. Daniel is a member of the steering committee for the San Diego Lean Construction Institute (LCI) Community of Practice and is on the planning committee for the 2017 LCI National Conference. Dusan Selezan Senior Virtual Design and Construction Specialist, Balfour Beatty Construction Dusan holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master s degree in Construction Engineering from San Diego State. With more than five years of BIM experience he has diverse type of projects on his resume; Healthcare, Correctional Facilities, Schools and Residential Towers. Dusan is lecturer at New School of Architecture & Design, teaching Virtual Design & Construction course. He serves on multiple committees for Associated General Contractors in San Diego, he is a board member for Construction Management Association of America and member of Lean Construction Institute. Brian Laird, Principal Project Manager, Rick Engineering Company Brian has over 21 years of professional surveying and technology experience. He is a Professional Land Surveyor. As manager of the Civil Technologies Group at Rick Engineering Company, Brian manages the GIS and 3D Laser Scanning departments. He also leads many of the R&D projects for the organization. His previous experience as engineering CADD operator, survey analyst, GPS survey coordinator, photogrammetry coordinator, GIS manager and manager of 3D laser scanning enables Brian to consider and understand all aspects of a project from conception to final deliverables and to streamline interdepartmental communication, resulting in a cohesive and imaginative on-time product.
