2 ABOUT THE IT UNIVERSITY IN COPENHAGEN Established in 1999, the IT University of Copenhagen is an independent Danish university. Through our research and educations we make Denmark exceptionally good at creating value with IT. The university has around 2,500 students with very different backgrounds and nationalities. We offer study programmes of high quality and an interesting study environment with the newest research within digital communication, business, software development and games. All our study programmes are research-based and we have around 70 full-time researchers, 50 external lecturers and 65 PhD students.

The first angle is the arts, the second angle is business knowledge, and the third angle is science.

3 A HOLISTIC TAKE ON IT SCIENCE IT is a key area that draws on established research disciplines of other fields. At the IT University, we have a broad perception of IT and view IT as an academic triangle. The first angle is the arts, the second angle is business knowledge, and the third angle is science. The IT University s academic platform embraces all three angles, and also addresses the areas where they overlap. One of the fundamental ideas behind the IT University is to attract students, staff and external collaboration partners from industry, science and the arts and have them work together. 4 OUR FULL-TIME PROGRAMMES Master of Science in IT: Games Work with some of the world s leading games researchers and become an expert in computer games yourself. The IT University has a long range of programmes for those wanting to work with IT. We have close to 2,500 students - of which almost one third are female and a fourth are international students that attend the following programmes: Master of Science in IT: Software Development and Technology Work with all phases of the development process analysis, design, development, test and commissioning. Bachelor in Global Business Informatics Work with IT in an international business context. Master of Science in IT: Digital Innovation and Management You will be equipped to recognise and manage complex interactions between people, technology and society. Bachelor in Digital Media and Design Work with communication via digital media both in theory and in practice. Master of Science in IT: Digital Design and Communication Get the tools to work theoretically, creatively and practically with digital media and communication. Bachelor in Software Development Work with all phases of the development process analysis, design, development, test and commissioning. We have a great study environment at the IT University with students behind all sorts of exciting initiatives such as the Friday hot spot ScrollBar, the student organization StupIT, the movie club ITU Film, the entrepreneurship forum ITU Innovators, the student radio Modem, the soccer team ITU FC and the coffee café Analog. And we have fun.

5 OUR PART-TIME PROGRAMMES Professional education at the IT University makes you even better at what you re passionate about. Our educations are well renowned, combining the newest research with excellent courses, and the tendency is that employers recommend professional education at the IT University. We offer a high degree of choice to compose your studies to suit your needs. Master in IT (three specializations) for those already working with IT at a professional level that want specialized skills within specific academic IT-areas. Diploma in IT for those who would like to take a qualifying academic education while working. Single Subjects around 80 single subjects within the areas of business, management, digital communication, software development and games.

6 RESEARCH AT THE ITU Through our research, we at the IT University wish to contribute to making Denmark exceptionally good at creating value with IT. This presupposes that the research is of high international standard and directs itself towards issues where the solution may both lead to new insights and new ways to use IT. Two thirds of our research is done in collaboration with external partners. Our researchers have very different backgrounds from sociology through computer science, philosophy, mathematics, literature to engineering and are divided into 11 research groups: Digital Culture (DigCult) Center for Games Research (Games) Technologies in Practice (TiP) Software Development Group (SDG) Programming, Logic and Semantics (PLS) Algorithms (Algo) Digital Media & Communication (DMC) Interaction Design (ID) Process and System Models (Models) Pervasive Interaction Technology (PIT) Software Engineering (SE)
