The analysis included 14 operations in the steel industry. Attention was paid to returns of the companies performing acquisitions, as well as to the returns on shares that presented the acquisition target. The analysis was performed based on the event study method, and the analysed event was the announcement or notification of realization of an acquisition. Shares of the target steel companies as well as acquirers are attaining higher returns, but the change was not statistical significant. This model defines the expectations and needs of customers for furniture and identifies the specific product characteristics according to the customer requirements. This identification should be an important impulse for the companies to identify trends and to assume consecutive arrangements, improvements and innovations for selected products. The results show that consumers consider design (66.7%), price (41.8%) and quality of products (38.7%) as the most important requirements for their purchasing behaviour. However,

2 correlation matrix confirmed low causality between the requirements of customers. Due to sensible management approach to mines in the last century, the town of Rožňava succeeded in preserving the cultural heritage that is presently on display in the mining museum. However, presently booming is tourism industry, and through connection of that one with the mining cultural heritage the montane tourism emerged. The goal of this paper is to assess, using statistic methods, economic benefits of the mining museum for district of Rožňava. When establishing the real economic benefit the author considers only those out-of-the district tourists who leave their expenditures in the destination under consideration. Further, the authors deals with the idea of optimising the regional development of the former mining towns and presents a brief proposal as how to increase traffic of cultural attractions with the history of the mining industry. Prevailing in the location being considered are economic problems, whilst the unemployment rate exceeds 30%. It is almost sure that the fact holds for a number of former mining towns, and hence the issue is highly topical. New forms of enterprise were created, the number of subjects increased and their average concentration decreased. Based on the analysis, it is claimed that in the majority of selected economic indicators, there was a significant difference in the reached parameters among the groups of the analyse subjects using land, differentiated according to their legal status. Based on the results of testing, it is possible to claim that business companies show a higher extent of economic success evaluated through the selected economic indicators. Only in one case - the indicator of the amount of subsidies per 1 ha of agricultural land - it is impossible to establish a statistically significant difference. This impossibility in that particular

7 indicator only shows even more notably the fact that business companies are able to manage better than cooperatives even with subsidies per hectare of agricultural land that have not been statistically significantly different. Air quality assessment in Slovakia is according to the law no. 137/2010 of the atmosphere, as amended. Air quality criteria, such as limit and target values, tolerance limits, upper and lower assessment thresholds and so on, are listed in the Order of Ministry of the Environment no. 360/2010 of air quality. The paper will address the assessment of air quality in the Slovak Republic, focusing on eight areas and two agglomerations. Zone boundaries are identical to the boundaries of regions, while Bratislava and Košice, chosen as territorial units of Bratislava and Košice region, are assessed separately as agglomerations. In this type of territory division of the Slovak Republic is evaluated the level of air pollution for SO2, NOX, CO. The aim of the paper is on an assessment rate of pollutant concentrations in air evaluate the performance and convergence of the Slovak Republic to one of the main objectives of the new strategy of European Union "Europe 2020", which is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 20% compared to the level of 1990 or by 30% if the conditions are right. This short proverb shows the core of experimental teaching. Generally the experiential learning Theory (ELT) provides a holistic model of the learning process and a multilinear model of adult development, both of which are consistent with what we know about how people learn, grow, and develop. We have many methods and techniques which can be used in experimental learning process. One of them is simulation games. Simulation games are controlled detailed situations found in the real world. It is a dramatic view of life existing for the serious purpose of learning about real experiences. During simulation games, each player have individual role. All game often has winners and losers. Roles are more structured and have a defined set of participants with specific times, places, equipment, and rules. Games may be played with teams against one another or against some impersonal force. Article presents the idea and methodology chosen simulation games and them application in conditions of slovak and polish universities. The angle of curvature has a significant impact on the size of the workspace of modular kinematic structure constructed from such modules. The aim is to find the angle of curvature at which the maximum possible range is achieved and structure does not collide with itself. In case of comparison of geometric parameters of rotary module for modular construction machinery a mathematical model was used with utilization of Denavit-Hartenberg principle of coordinate systems deployment Institute of Thermomechanics AS CR, v.v.i. The paper deals with proposals for solar energy systems for various use, simple calculations of payback periods of solar systems financed with subsidy and without subsidy. Apart from climatic conditions, chemical composition the of the absorber and structural elements that are made of copper, respectively aluminum and Al-Mg alloy play an important role in assessing the payback period of the investment in solar panels. The article deals with mathematical modeling of virtual machining. A specific lathe with specific parameters was selected as the machining tool. Lathe, respectively its computational model was decomposed into modules that represent a natural group of module design where each module is sliding towards other, rotating or standing with a given dimension characteristics. Computational model of the machine tool should be as simple as possible, but must be designed so that features all the factors affecting the accuracy of the working face. Generally, mathematical model of inaccuracies of machining is possible to use for analytical detection of inaccuracies in machining parts for a particular model machine tools. It is necessary to continuously improve the quality of provided services. Even though metallurgy is focused on production, not on providing services, even in these companies great variety of services exists, which is important to improve all the time. One of these production supporting services are the repairs. This article analyses and solves the problem of insufficient promptness of the repairs in a metallurgy company.
