6 No.01 Offshore Thailand MOECO has been successfully expanding this project for around 50 years since it acquired an interest in Blocks 10 and 11 in 1970 shortly after its establishment, and continuously explore, develop and produce crude oil and natural gas today. Currently, the production volume from the oil and gas fields in the blocks associated with MOECO s share is around 90,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day. This is 10% of the production volume in Thailand. It is used mainly as fuel for power generation and transport in Thailand. MOECO has been contributing to the development of Thailand s economy and industry by developing and supplying oil and natural gas, and has established a significant presence as a major E&P company in Thailand. MOECO will continuously make effort to ensure stable supplies of energy. Onshore Thailand MOECO acquired the interests in Block L10/43 and L11/43 in 2004 through a wholly owned subsidiary, Siam Moeco Ltd. It thereby embarked on its first operator project. In view of the exploration results, it stepped into the phase of development in In June 2012, it commenced the commercial production of crude oil from the Burapa-A oil field, from which a cumulative total of 1.4 million barrels have been produced so far. SOUTHEAST ASIA Vietnam THAILAND MOECO has discovered a considerable volume of natural gas and condensate resources in Block B & 48/95 in the southwestern sea area and in neighboring Block 52/97, and is now making preparations for development. This project is composed of the upstream project such as gas development, the midstream project such as pipeline transportation and the downstream project such as gas fired power generation, and promoted as the integrated project. MOECO takes part in the upstream and the midstream project. After the start of production, it will sell hundreds of millions of cubic feet of natural gas per day through the pipeline to the power plant for 20 years or more. Vietnam s economic growth has given rise to concern about a future power shortage. MOECO will push ahead powerfully with this project as a leading foreign participant in it to achieve rapid development and the early start of production to make a significant contribution to Vietnam s economic development. Other Countries MOECO engages in exploration in Indonesia, Myanmar and Malaysia. In the Tuna Block in Indonesia and in the Block M-3 in Myanmar, the evaluation process based on the results of drilling exploratory wells is underway with the objective of final investment decision (FID). MOECO will take advantage of its presence based on years of its activities in the region in a bid to enlarge its business foundations. No.02 USA Gulf of Mexico At the end of 2016, MOECO acquired a 20% interest in 4 offshore blocks in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico through a wholly owned subsidiary, MOEX North America LLC. In these blocks, oil and gas resources amounting to more than 100 million barrels have been confirmed. MOECO used the existing production equipment in adjacent blocks to cut costs and increase the pace of development. In May 2018, production was commenced ahead of schedule. Production at the peak time is expected to reach approximately 40,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day. Onshore Shale MEPUSA is implementing the Marcellus Shale Gas Project in Pennsylvania and the Eagle Ford Shale Oil and Gas Project in Texas. The daily production volume associated with our share in 2017 was approximately 211 million cubic feet and around 14,000 barrels of oil equivalent. Vigorous production is continuing. Together with the operator, we will work to incessantly optimize development, production and sales with a view to helping supply energy stably. EUROPE British North Sea MEPUK is continuing production from the Alba oil field and the Britannia gas and condensate field. (As of June 2018) Italy MEPIT participated in development at the Tempa Rossa oil field in This development is now in the very final stage. It is such a big project that this oil field is said to have original reserves of 6-10 billion barrels. We will work to achieve the early start of operation and contribute to the Italian economy through stable supplies of energy. Norway MOECO is striving to acquire promising projects with the use of knowledge accumulated through its past exploration activities and through a local subsidiary Moeco Oil & Gas Norge AS. MIDDLE EAST MEPME commenced production at Oman s Block 9 in At present, it is continuing to explore, develop and produce oil and natural gas in a total of 3 blocks there, namely Block 3&4, Block 27 and the aforementioned Block 9. The production volume has increased every year. The daily production volume associated with our share in 2017 was around 10,000 barrels of oil equivalent. On the basis of these good assets, we will continuously seek to gain competitive assets in the Middle East and North Africa. JAPAN MOECO carried out a survey on submarine topography and the seafloor surface in 2016 and a survey of the soil in the shallow layer in 2017 in preparation for future possible exploration work to the west off the coast of the Tempoku district in Hokkaido. On the basis of these surveys, MOECO will study what actions it will take with the aim of helping to improve Japan s energy self-sufficiency. BRAZIL No E&P activities have been undertaken in 4 blocks in the deepwater areas of the Barreirinhas Basin off the coast of northern Brazil. MEPBR is conducting geophysical interpretation aimed at determining the structure for exploratory drilling to explore the future possibility of contributing to reserves. No.08 No.05 No.06 No.03 No.04 GEOTHERMAL Capitalizing on the experience it has accumulated in the E&P business, MOECO has been working on a number of geothermal power generation projects in Hokkaido and the Tohoku region since In the Matsuo-Hachimantai area of Iwate Prefecture, final investment decision (FID) was made in February It will address this project with a view to commencing the operation of a geothermal power plant. There are high hopes for geothermal energy as a source of energy that is friendly to the planet, since it may be available almost permanently if it is used properly. MOECO will contribute to spreading geothermal power generation by continuously conducting surveys and development. No FY Long-term Flow Test by Iwate Geothermal Co., Ltd. AUSTRALIA MEPAU owns 6 production blocks and 31 exploration and development blocks in Australia. In May 2018, Mitsui & Co., Ltd. acquired all the shares of AWE Limited and obtained its assets including the operator project. We will gather the comprehensive strengths of the Mitsui E&P Group and endeavor to maximize the value of projects including the one mentioned above. No S S 11

7 A particularly impressive job in which I was involved was the preparation for the final investment decision (FID) for MOECO s operation of an onshore project in Thailand. As a member of the team, I was involved in procurement, sales, and other work in the development phase toward the start of production. Developing a project requires more than the efforts of individuals. It is essential to build and maintain a close cooperative relationship within the team and with related internal and external parties. The process of creating a project through friendly competition was hard but worthwhile, which increased the joy when production was started. And in the operation site, I felt the importance of giving top priority to safety assurance, trying to ensure accurate operations, and protecting the HSE* of stakeholders such as operating staff in the frontline and people in the local community. At present, I am seconded to Mitsui & Co., where I am mainly involved in joint projects between the company and MOECO. Being in a position to realize the structural reinforcement of the Mitsui E&P Group, I do encounter some difficulties, but I am working on jobs such as project management and exploration of new projects with an awareness of contributing to the team. *HSE: Protection of health, safety, and environment for all people involved in the operation At present, I belong to the Technical Division, where I am in charge of exploration and development projects as a geologist mainly in Southeast Asia. At the moment, I am working on the geological evaluation of an offshore field in Vietnam, where preparations for development are underway. In my first year at MOECO, I participated in E&P engineer training held jointly with other E&P companies. Through this training, I obtained basic skills as a geologist. Later, I worked on various projects under the guidance of my senior engineers. In my second and third years, I took part in on-site training at exploration sites onshore Thailand and offshore Vietnam, which allowed me to feel what it is like to work on the frontlines. I still find this experience useful for moving projects forward. During the three years from my fourth year at MOECO, I was seconded to Chevron Thailand, the operator of the project offshore Thailand, where I was in charge of the processes from planning production wells to actual production. I am also in charge of geothermal power as renewable energy by taking advantage of my knowledge as a geologist. I am thus given opportunities to accumulate wide experience. I am working hard as a geologist, aiming to create energy that is essential for our lives Senior Coordinator / Seconded to Mitsui & Co., Ltd. Joined the Company in 2007 Senior Coordinator (Geologist) / Technical Division Joined the Company in 2008 Following work on projects in Vietnam and Cambodia after I joined the Company, I was deployed to drilling sites in onshore oil fields in Thailand for which MOECO is the operator. I then resided in Dubai and Muscat in the Middle East for about four years. Because Dubai and Muscat are cities in Islamic countries, the cultures and customs there are very different from those in Japan, and they were simultaneously interesting and perplexing. With the assistance of friendly local people and colleagues, I had an enjoyable and fulfilling life as an expatriate. After returning to the Head Office, I was put in charge of projects in the Americas, and I have been working since then to manage existing projects and acquire new ones. MOECO develops projects in a wide variety of locations around the world, and I feel that I have been able to amass broad knowledge and experience through my experience in various geological conditions and exploration and development tailored to them by taking charge of many areas in my career to date. At present, I am pursuing new projects in the United States, and I would like to contribute to the further expansion of business by using the knowledge and experience I have acquired to date. Senior Coordinator (Geologist) / New Ventures (U.S.A) Division Joined the Company in 2009 AMANE SATOH KAYO FUKUDA TORU KIKUCHI Deliver the voices from younger employees growing up through MOECO. All the contents are made as of the date of the interview. At Hanoi Office, we are proceeding with negotiations over Block B, Southwest Vietnam Gas Project, with the state-run oil company of Vietnam and the government of that country. If we succeed in commercializing this project, it could be a core project in the future. In this sense, my job is building a foundation for MOECO for the coming period of more than 20 years, so I feel it highly worthwhile as I work daily. For the negotiations, diverse skills are required in the process from formulating the negotiation strategy to the actual implementation of negotiations. We also have many opportunities to negotiate with the state-run oil company and the national government as representatives of the company. I develop strategies for negotiations with highly experienced team members and overcome barriers, one by one, with each step moving closer to commercialization. As a member of an overseas office, where a small number of staffs need to handle a lot of work, I spend exciting days while also feeling my responsibility. I worked in a laboratory at an university in Malaysia for six months in the second year after I joined MOECO, and I have mastered special analytical technologies of geophysical exploration. It was exciting to conduct an analysis using real data while having discussions in a multinational team every day, and this experience has led to my own growth. Since returning to Japan, I have been in charge of the technical assessment of projects mainly in the United States and Brazil as a geophysicist. When I made a presentation regarding the geophysical analysis results at a technical meeting with partner companies of a project in Brazil, I was able to leverage my experience in Malaysia and gained confidence. In addition, I am able to learn many things from discussions with various technical experts through projects, and I try to acquire knowledge in a wide range of areas, in addition to my specialty. I would like to contribute to MOECO by expanding my knowledge into other areas by keeping my eyes wide open while taking advantage of my own strengths by continuing to grow my technical competence in my specialty. Finance & Accounting Division promotes projects smoothly in cooperation with profit centers at all stages of projects, such as the origination of project financing and support for the development of an investment scheme by using knowledge of international taxes when a new project is considered, the operation of subsidiaries and cash management after a project is acquired, and sales management after the project enters the production stage. It has been a long time since the days when accounting operations merely involved closing financial accounting at the end of a fiscal year. The oil development industry in which the Company operates is no exception. Participation in and contribution to management with business results analyses, the formation of earnings forecasts, and business support in the areas of accounting, tax and finance are functions that are particularly required for accounting in the oil development industry, where the amount of cash-out and the risks by project are large. I myself acquire broad knowledge by working on tasks that require such a high viewpoint every day through trial and error. 8 MOECO S BASE HEAD OFFICE Based in the Hibiya Central Building in Nishi-Shimbashi, Minato-ku, Tokyo, where approximately 150 staffs from 10 internal organizations work on 3 floors. Profit center sector pursues businesses and explores new projects by working together with overseas offices, affiliate companies and partner companies, while corporate sector provides strong back-office support for these operations. BANGKOK OFFICE Opened in 1972 as MOECO s first overseas branch, our Bangkok Office has a total of 42 employees and is located in the heart of the city right next to Lumpini Park. Capitalizing on more than 40 years of experience in offshore Thailand operations, we initiated an onshore operator project in 2004 and in 2016 reached 1 million barrels of crude oil production. From here, we will continue working together on projects which contribute to the stable supply of energy in Thailand. HANOI OFFICE Our Hanoi Office was opened in 2008 and is home to a multinational team of 13 members, each with their own unique background and experiences. Working together with the Vietnamese government and PetroVietnam, we are engaged in a project of national importance that seeks to fulfill the energy requirements of Southwest Vietnam and are continuing operations for natural gas development in the southwest sea. MEPUSA MEPUSA's 2017 Employee of year Elizabeth Wright MEPUSA was established in 2010 and opened its office in Houston, Texas. 39 staffs strive to control the current business in U.S.A such as Marcellus, Eagle Ford or Kaikias project and dig up the new business development. MEPUK In 2013, MEPUK opened its London Office in the city center of London city near St. Paul's Cathedral. 9 staffs control its UK business and serves as a hub to develop and expand Mitsui group's E&P business in EMEA region. ABCS OF E&P BUSINESS 1Acquisition of Blocks MEPME MEPME was established in 2002 and Muscat office in Oman was opened in MEPME consists of approximately 25 staffs, who are engaging in maximizing the value of the existing assets plus evaluating growth opportunities in Middle East and North Africa region. MEPIT In 2014, MEPIT opened its office in the center of Milan city. 8 staffs are working together with Partners to develop Tempa Rossa project in southern Italy, which participated in Exploration JAKARTA OFFICE Opened in 2008 with a current staff of 8, our Jakarta Office employs the knowledge and understanding gained from involvement in Indonesia since 1970 to developing new business opportunities in Indonesia and surrounding countries, while managing existing operations. From our centrally located office looking out onto the sea from the 51st floor, we are aiming for the discovery of new crude oil and natural gas in order to assist with Indonesia s further development.
