YOUTH IS THE AGE OF POSSIBILITY Message from The Chair of The Board AS CHILDREN, we all dream of what we might want to become in the future. In these dreams, there are no limits. Why shouldn t dreams be able to become a reality for anyone, including aboriginal people? The Dreamcatcher Charitable Foundation wants to ensure that every Aboriginal person has the chance to pursue their dream. Aboriginal children may choose to excel in Sports and Recreation, Arts and Culture, Education or in the field of Health Care. Today, becoming a doctor or lawyer is a very achievable goal for our youth. With your support, Dreamcatcher can provide many of these opportunities to Aboriginal people to help reach their goals. We would like to ask you to partner with us in helping the dreams of young children come true. Enclosed in this package is a listing of the different sponsorship levels that are available. We would appreciate any sponsorship help you can provide, even if it is not included in the listed options. We value your support and would like to acknowledge your organization for its contribution, not only at these events, but also in our national newsletter. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you in advance for your time, consideration and generosity. It is people and organizations like you and yours that make a difference in many people s lives. May all your dreams come true! Please carefully review our Sponsorship Package and consider making a generous donation to help. Dreamcatcher receives applications from all across the country we take great pride in being a national charitable organization. We support thousands of young Aboriginal people and our work touches the heart of countless others, providing opportunities to turn their dreams into reality. With your help, we can continue to make those dreams of Aboriginal youth a reality. With the help of sponsorships and donations from supporters such as you, we have seen many lives changed for the better. Thanks to your support, together we can change lives and build a better future for all. WHAT IS THE DREAMCATCHER CHARITABLE FOUNDATION? STARTING FROM ITS HUMBLE BEGINNINGS IN 2004 as a small office with just two employees and four board members, Dreamcatcher Charitable Foundation has since become a major force for change in our communities; from funding 481 applicants in 2004-05 to a current rate of close to 1,000 applicants per year. To date, we have funded more than 10,000 individuals with the generous and steadfast support of our sponsors. OUR MISSION We are a Nationally-recognized philanthropic organization whose mission is to build healthy and vibrant Aboriginal communities by developing our youth as future community leaders. Since 2004 we have provided life-changing opportunities to Aboriginal people through the provision of thousands of dollars of financial grants to those in need across the country. In a very short period of time we have made a huge impact in the lives of many of our applicants and their communities. Today, we are one of Canada s leading Aboriginal charitable foundations, dedicated to providing talented, passionate and energetic youth and individuals the support they need today, to become tomorrow s community leaders. We also provide grants to many community-involvement projects that have lasting, positive effects for their citizens. Dreamcatcher contributes to eligible applicants in the areas of: Arts and Culture We support the participation of youth and other community members to participate in special events that support cultural retention and community confidence. Education Support We support and encourage our Aboriginal youth to identify, pursue and complete their educational goals. Health Support We assist individuals with various health needs and those requiring services that are not met by existing programs and services. Sports and Recreation We provide opportunities for youth to participate in organized activities that are positive and that promote leadership, teamwork and personal accountability. Dreamcatcher funds a wide range of sports and recreation projects through special events and community-based activities. 4 D R E A M C A T C H E R C H A R I T A B L E F O U N D A T I O N 2 0 1 7 S P O N S O R S H I P P A C K A G E

10,000 Dreams and Counting... BUILDING DREAMS, REWARDING EXCELLENCE Communities benefit from our programs in more ways than one: the individual grows through our funding and their participation in their field of interest, while at the same time a key component of their contract with Dreamcatcher is a commitment to give back to their community once their project is over. 5

TODAY S DREAMER, TOMORROW S LEADER: THE DREAMCATCHER EFFECT OVER THE PAST DECADE, Dreamcatcher Charitable Foundation has funded more than ten thousand applicants and the number continues to grow each year. Aboriginal youth and their communities across the country have benefited from our efforts to help make their dreams come true. Who has been helped? Aboriginal youth with dreams of becoming physicians, lawyers, artists, athletes, social workers, educators, public administrators, engineers, politicians and scientists in short, just about every imaginable field of endeavour! AN ACTIVE FORCE IN THE COMMUNITY We are a National registered charity, but we are also a grassroots organization. Events in addition to our annual Dreamcatcher Gala include our very popular lacrosse, hockey and golf tournaments; our new Education Family Fun Fair and our ongoing support for the Little Native Hockey League Tournament with its 160-plus participating teams from all over Ontario. Here is a list of our current Special Events: THE FIFTH ANNUAL DREAMCATCHER MEN S HOCKEY TOURNAMENT One of the biggest and most anticipated tournaments of the year, the annual Dreamcatcher Hockey Tournament will be held in April, 2017. Last year s exciting event featured hockey teams from all across Southern Ontario competing for the right to hoist the Dreamcatcher Cup. Last year we added a 35 and over division to add to the excitement. DREAMCATCHER CHRISTMAS IN JUNE What better way to start your Christmas shopping than Christmas in June? This event features local bands, craft vendors, free giveaways, Santa Claus photographs, and much more, bringing as many smiles to the parents as to the kids! WE THINK OF YOUTH AS THE AGE OF POSSIBILITY... AS CHILDREN, we dream of what we might become, placing no limits on our dreams. Why shouldn t anything be possible? Here at the Dreamcatcher Charitable Foundation, we believe no dream should be out of reach for young Aboriginal people. We remove financial barriers so that youth can pursue their dreams, whether they be a recreational, educational, artistic or cultural pursuit. We have sent eager young hockey players to an important tryout. We have sent enthusiastic students to university. We have helped passionate teachers start music programs and we have provided support to devoted gymnasts pursuing their Olympic dream. In the Aboriginal community, there is no lack of talent, knowledge or enthusiasm. When the will is there, a simple opportunity can open the door to success. Dreamcatcher opens that door. Visit www.dcfund.ca for more information about our programmes, including videos about special community projects, golf and other tournaments and events, and our annual Dreamcatcher Awards. 12
