Entries must be prepared and processed by exhibitor and only clear glass standard jars will be accepted. No preservatives or chemicals may be used, and judges may open containers if they wish. Jars with rusty lids will not be accepted. Where there is no competition, judges may place awards according to merit. All products must have been canned since September 30, 2010. All jellies, jams and preserves must be standard sealed half pint or pint jars. Enter Friday, September 23, from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM and Saturday, September 24, from 8:00 AM until 12:00 Noon. Each entry must have name of product listed on the top of each jar. Unsealed jars of food will not be accepted. DEPARTMENT 18 EDUCATIONAL EXHIBITS Dwain Shaw - Superintendent 1. Exhibit must be entry of organized Community Club or 4H Project Club. 2. Twelve Community Clubs in County. 3. Space will be 8 x 8. 4. Judging on Educational Values and Attractiveness. RULES Each Community Club will be allowed to enter and exhibit in the Middle Tennessee Fair. The space allotted each Club will be 8 x 8. The exhibit will be judged and awarded either a blue or red ribbon. The Clubs awarded a blue ribbon will receive $100 for the Club. Those Clubs receiving a red ribbon will receive $75 for their Club. Each 4H Project Club will be allowed a space of 4 x 8. Exhibits will be judged and awarded either a blue or red ribbon. 4H Project Clubs receiving a blue ribbon will receive $75 and clubs receiving a red ribbon will receive $50. In addition, each personal exhibit entered in the Middle Tennessee Fair will count one point for the Community Club of which they are a member. Each community club that enters an educational booth will receive 25 bonus points toward their totals from individual exhibits. After all exhibits are entered, points will be tabulated, and the three Clubs with the most points will receive: 1st place $300.00, 2nd $200.00, 3rd $100.00.
