Flex Schedule Highlighted by Working Mother Santa Monica Associate Deborah Heald authored an article for Working Mother magazine about her experience working a flextime schedule at Bryan Cave. The associates were paired with partners, all of whom were senior leaders and rainmakers. Sponsorship is a two-way commitment between the sponsor and the protégé in which they identify mutual goals and undertake joint actions to achieve those goals. The sponsors created opportunities for associates practice development, leadership development and business generation. In turn, the associates prepared and executed individualized career development plans. The year-long program was highly structured with required time commitments and a monthly group videoconference for all the pairs to participate in relevant substantive programming and to share their experiences.
