MERCYFIRST S RECEPTION THURSDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2018 6 : 0 0 p m - 9 : 3 0 p m RAINBOW ROOM ROCKEFELLER CENTER new location!
h o n o r i n g Angel of Hope Award Scott Gildea Scott Gildea has shown great dedication and leadership on the Board of Trustees for over 16 years. Scott served as long-time Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair before becoming Board Chair in 2014 and serving 2 terms. Scott has also been a strong supporter of every event and activity we do, including his initiative to fund-raise for MercyFirst by participating in the annual Coney Island Polar Bear Swim. Getting involved with children and families in need was passed down to Scott from his parents. His father was the director of recreation for Little Flower Children s Services for 20 years and even though they had five of their own, his parents always seemed to have room for one more, especially for the holidays. Scott's wife, Anne, started volunteering at MercyFirst 20 years ago. Listening to her stories and feeling her attachment to so many of the residents reminded him how much his father loved his job, compelling Scott to get involved too. Over the years, in addition to Scot's involvement on the board, he and Anne have mentored and stayed involved in the lives of numerous former residents of MercyFirst. Currently, Scott is the managing and founding partner of Gildea & Ivanis LLP, a boutique accounting firm headquartered in New York City. Prior to forming Gildea & Ivanis, he spent several years with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. Scott is a 1977 graduate of Hofstra University with a degree in Business Administration in Accounting, a Certified Public Accountant in New York State, and resides in Woodbury with Anne.
