The existing fence does not cover the entire east side of the lot as shown on the drawings. Also, David Eldridge believed that the 40 gates to be installed on the East side needed to be installed on the West side by the new parking lot so that the Portable Bldgs could be moved out. Joe Baca requested that an MCR be submitted to take care of the missing fence and to add an additional 40 gate to the West Side near the parking lot. 2. Stanley informed the Josie that the Fire Sprinkler contractor would be disarming the Fire Sprinkler system during the day to perform their work. The system would be up and running by the end of the day. This could happen throughout the project. 3. Joe Baca stated that the new bleachers for the football field were scheduled to be installed and requested that the Contractor relocate the construction fence approx. 40 to the west.
4. James Dunn stated that the new electrical panels have been energized so the Contractor could inform all crew members to be careful working around the panels. With the panels energized this has activated the operation of the parking lot lights in the new parking lot. THREE WEEK LOOK AHEAD: 1. Rough in of Duct work Phase 1 & North Area Phase 2 2. JOE BACA STATED THAT THE QUOTE FROM KEERS WAS WELL BELOW THIS COST AND REQUESTED THAT THE CONTRACTOR REVISE MCR#28 TO CANCEL GWC S CONTRACT.) (JOE BACA STATED THAT THE REVISED PRICING WAS RECEIVED FROM KEERS AND HE DID NOT BELIEVE IT WAS A LOW ENOUGH TO WARRANT CANCELLING THE EXISTING CONTRACT. HE STATED THAT THIS WAS SUBMITTED TO THE ARCH. FOR THEIR REVIEW. SCOTT STATED THAT HE WOULD SUPPLY THE CREDIT TO CANCEL THE ABATEMENT WORK FROM THE CONTRACT FOR THE ARCH. TO REVIEW ALONG WITH KEERS QUOTE.) 2. (13) (SEE PRIOR MEETING MINUTES FOR COMPLETE INFO.) (TYLER PRESENTED A NEW RFI CONSERNING GRADES ON THE NEW BUSLANE (RFI#38). (RFI#29 AND RFI#30 WERE SUBMITTED.) (AWAITING INFO FROM THE ARCH. ABEL REQUESTED INFO ON THE FUME HOOD FOR THE SCIENCE CLASSROOM.) (AWAITING INFORMATION TO PRICE AN MCR FOR RFI#29 FOR THE RANGE HOODS AND NEED TO KNOW MORE INFORMATION CONCERNING THE EXHAUST FAN AND POSSIBLY AN EXHAUST VALVE FOR THE FUME HOOD.) (STILL AWAITING INFORMATION. STANLEY STATED THAT THE ROOFING WORK ON THIS AREA IS COMPLETE.) 4. (5)Josie Turner issued concerns that she was under the impression that this contract included the addition of electrical outlets to the existing classrooms. Joe stated that the Design contract included this request. Abel stated that he would review the documents and advise. (IT WAS DETERMINED THAT AN MCR WOULD NEED TO BE PRODUCED TO INSTALL ADDITIONAL OUTLETS IN THE EXISTING CLASSROOMS. ABEL WAS GOING TO HAVE HIS ENGINEERS PROVIDE A LAYOUT FOR THE ADDITIONAL OUTLETS AND PANEL BOXES IF REQUIRED.) (AFTER MUCH DISCUSSION, JAMES DUNN SUGGESTED THAT THE SCHOOL DIST. PROVIDE INFORM THE ARCH EXACTLY WHAT IS REQUIRED FOR THE EXISTING CLASSROOM. ONCE A LAYOUT FOR EACH ROOM IS PROVIDED HIS OFFICE COULD PRICE THE REQUIRED PROPOSAL. MCR#16 DELT WITH CLASSROOM A102. THE CLASSROOMS WOULD PROBABLY RESEMBLE THIS WORK.) (JAMES DUNN STATED THAT HE WOULD PROVIDE THE SCHOOL DISTRICT A BALLPARK NUMBER PRIOR TO THE ENGINEER PROVIDING A DESIGN.) (JAMES PROVIDED JOE BACA A BALLPARK FIGURE PRIOR TO THE MEETING. JOE DIRECTED THE ARCH. TO PROCEED WITH ADDITIONAL DESIGN FOR NEW OUTLETS.) 5. (4)Michael McClain with J&G Electric and Jeff Bishop with RISDs Voice/Data systems all attended the meeting to discuss Voice/Data issues on the project. Michael stated that the existing data and fiber optics in the existing building are not installed in cable trays and are just laying on top of the ceiling. There are no
plans to install these items in cable trays under this contract. Scott stated that this could be a problem with the demolition of the ceiling in these areas. Jeff was also informed that the School district was responsible for final terminations of the Voice/Data equipment per contract and confirmation of RFI#1. Jeff stated that he knew nothing about that and requested that an MCR be produced for the Special Systems contractor to install. (JEFF STATED THAT HE WOULD REQUIRE A DATA DROP IN THE CUSTODIAL ROOM AND HE BELIEVED THAT HE WOULD NEED AIR CONDITIONING IN THE ELECTRICAL ROOM. JASON STATED HE WOULD REVIEW THE AIR IN THE ELECTRICAL ROOM. STANLEY THOUGHT THAT THE ROOM HAD A TRANSFER AIR GRILLE.) (JOE BACA STATED TO PROCEED WITH PRICING FOR A NEW DATA DROP IN THE JANITORS ROOM ONLY.) 6. (3)Scott stated that RFI#34 & #35 needed to be reviewed and answered concering the SK-1 and Sk-2 sink designations. There is no SK-2 sink scheduled and the SK-1 sinks are scheduled as a single compartment sink and the drawings show a double compartment sink in the designated locations. This needs to be answered so that the plumbing fixtures can be released. (MCR#27 WAS SUBMITTED. SCOTT STATED THAT HE RECEIVED ADDITIONAL INFO FROM THE ENGINEER JUST PRIOR TO THE MEETING WANTING TO CHANGE THE SET UP FOR THESE FIXTURES AND TO STATE THAT THE SK SINKS ARE NOT ADA ACCESSABLE.) (NEW PRICING WILL BE SUBMITTED TO REFLECT THE ENGINEER S CHANGES. SCOTT ASKED THAT ABEL CHECK TO SEE IF SK SINKS NEED TO BE ADA ACCESSABLE AND IF A SOLIDS INTERCEPTOR WOULD BE REQUIRED.) 7. (3)RFI#37 was submitted concerning the existing water meter that is located in the area of the new bus lane. The existing box the meter is locate in is not traffic rated. Joe stated that he would prefer that the meter be relocated. The new bus lane work cannot begin until this RFI is resolved. (SCOTT STATED THAT HIS PLUMBING MANAGER WAS MEETING WI TH THE WATER COMPANY THIS MORNING. AFTER THE MEETING JOE, JASON, SCOTT, STANLEY, TYLER, & ALTON COX MET AT THIS LOCATION AND DETERMINED THAT THE WATER METER WOULD NEED TO BE RELOCATED NORTH OF THE BUS LANE AND THAT ARMSTRONG WOULD CREDIT THE PAVING WORK ON THE NORTH SIDE TO ALLOW 2 LANES OF BUS TRAFFIC TO CONTINUE AS DESIGNED AND TO PROVIDE AN ADDITIONAL CURB AT THIS AREA AND TO ALSO REPLACE THE BROKEN CURB NORTH OF THE EXISTING SIDEWALK.) (THE COST TO RELOCATE THE METER WILL BE REVIEWED AFTER AN ALTERNATE PRICE IS SUBMITTED TO PROVIDE A TRAFFIC RATED BOX ON THE EXISTING METER.) 8. (2)RFI#43 was discussed concerning the lack of a backflow preventer on the new 4 domestic water line. Jason stated that CME stated that a backflow preventer was not required per the Uniform Plumbing Code. He stated that it may be a requirement for the City of Roswell. Scott stated that he would have his Plumbing Manager, Alton Cox, contact the Water Dept. to see if this was a city requirement. The City Water Dept. stated that this was not a requirement but was highly recommended on an line of this size. (SCOTT STATED THAT HE
WOULD CONTACT THE MECHANICAL INSPECTOR AND HAVE HIM PROVIDE A WRITTEN DETERMINATION FOR THE SPECIFIC CODE REQUIREMENT.) 9. (2)RFI#42 was discussed. The drawings show connecting to the existing 5 medium pressure gas line for the gas service to the new addition. The existing gas service is not medium pressure it is a low pressure service. Information will need to be provided to PNM to see if they will upgrade the gas service, if not then the gas lines to the new addition will not be large enough to provide the proper service to the new addition. Until this is resolved, there will be no heat in the new addition. (SCOTT STATED THAT ALL BTU INFORMATION WAS PRESENTED TO PNM FOR THERE REVIEW OF POSSIBLY INSTALLING A MEDIUM PRESSURE SERVICE TO THE BUILDING PER THE ENGINEER S DIRECTION. DAVID ELDRIDGE STATED THAT PNM HAS NOT AGREED TO PROVIDE THIS ADDITIONAL SERVICE IN THE PAST. THIS IS A HIGH PRIORTY ISSUE.) 10. (2)Joe Baca stated that he would like the contractor to submit an RFI concerning the lack of a washer and dryer hook ups in the Home Ec. Room. 11. (2)Joe Lovato stated that the pipe bollards by the loading dock were being used as trash cans. Tyler stated that he would have the bollards filled. (THERE IS ONE BOLLARD REMAINING THAT HAS NOT BEEN FILLED.) 12. (2)Scott stated that he still needed information on RFIs #26,29,30,36,&37. (RFI#30 WAS THE ONLY RFI REMAINING UNANSWERED FROM THIS ITEM.) Next Meeting Tuesday 11/11/08 at Sierra Middle School Library located in Portable bldg. Meeting to begin @ 9:00 AM.
