We ve achieved more than 2.7 million visits and the gallery has been a catalyst for the regeneration of Margate. Located in a building designed by David Chipperfield Architects, on a site overlooking the North Sea, our programme of worldclass events, exhibitions of historical and contemporary art and our innovative learning programme have fast earned the gallery an international reputation. With free admission, great art is accessible for all. We are committed to challenging traditional practice to make ourselves more accessible; repositioning art as more relevant to society. Job Description Purpose of Job/Key objectives We are seeking a creative, organised and analytical Digital Project Co-ordinator who will play a crucial role in co-ordinating Turner Contemporary s Digital Transformation Programme. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a leading visual arts organisation and help us achieve the ambitious targets set out in our Digital Policy. This includes expanding our audience, helping to realise income opportunities, delivering savings through efficient processes as well as expanding the scope of our artistic content using cutting edge digital technologies as we build towards hosting Turner Prize in 2019. Turner Contemporary has an extensive and inspiring physical footprint, including our exhibition programme, our innovative learning programme and our retail, venue hire and catering offer. As we redevelop our website, you will be part of taking the gallery s current activity into the digital space. You will be a highly organised and methodical project co-ordinator, with a passion for and knowledge of digital technologies. You will be adept at measuring and understanding the impact of digital activities, with the ability to use insights and data to drive further growth both in terms of income, but also in terms of audience both inside the gallery and beyond. Crucially, you will be an excellent communicator, and work with the wider team at Turner Contemporary in order to encourage the whole organisation to embrace digital. You will be curious about digital trends and developments and responsible for assisting in the implementation of new innovations and ideas to reach our audiences. Working closely with the Marketing Manager and the wider team you will assist with the delivery of key digital projects for the gallery. You will help us achieve ambitious targets in our Digital Policy, Audience Development Plan and Business Plan with the aim of increasing visit figures, delivering excellent artistic content, generating significant income as well as engaging with more people than ever before regionally, nationally and internationally. Principal Duties/Tasks and responsibilities Amplify opportunities for Digital Audience Development and telling Turner Contemporary s stories online: Work alongside the Marketing Manager and a selected agency to co-ordinate the delivery of a new website for Turner Contemporary, ensuring that it meets high standards of design as well as delivering on our targets Implement changes and updates to the new website Implement and measure pay per click campaigns, as well as effective search engine optimisation to increase traffic to our website 2

Set up and work with our Digital Steering Group and our Access Group, made up of people from the community, to ensure that our digital output is relevant and accessible for a range of demographics Identify and set up partnerships with relevant distribution partners to expand the reach of our digital content Work with the Marketing Team to identify opportunities to grow our digital audience and maximise engagement across our social media channels (Facebook, Youtube, Instagram and Twitter) Understand our visitor research as well as our digital analytics and use this to inform developments Realise income and savings opportunities: - Work with the wider team at Turner Contemporary to identify savings opportunities by streamlining processes, ensuring digital capabilities become embedded into the organisation and maximum benefits are accrued - Work with teams to drive CRM (ThanQ) adoption across the organisation, ensuring that the way data is handled is GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) compliant - Work alongside the Marketing Manager and Head of Retail to deliver an effective E-commerce offer as part of the website rebuild - Review and maximise the scope for digital fundraising opportunities - Research and explore the scope for online learning opportunities - Analyse all data on activity delivered to deliver excellent return on investment and help inform future strategies - Work with colleagues to ensure that our infrastructure can support new digital developments Expand the scope of our artistic content: - Research and keep abreast of digital trends and emerging technologies - Work with the exhibition and learning teams to explore content and interpretation opportunities in relation to our world class exhibitions programmes, coordinate the delivery of these initiatives - Coordinate digital content (both born digital and archive), working with artists and ensuring that the content complies with copyright requirements - Promote and market new and existing Turner Contemporary digital resources, especially around our Portfolio Art competition to attract new audiences and better reach existing audiences - Work with the Marketing and wider teams to increase our video output, including the use of Facebook/Instagram Lives - Identify funding and partnership opportunities to aid with the delivery of these projects Professional development: - Research and identify digital training opportunities for colleagues across the organisation - Participate in training and development activities as required and assist with the training and development of colleagues - Carry out all duties in accordance with our Equal Opportunities, Access, Employment, Health and Safety, Data and Inclusion Policies and safeguarding - Undertake any other duties as reasonably required by the Director 3

Person specification Essential Desirable Qualifications Degree in a relevant subject Skills, Knowledge and Experience Interest in the visual arts and understanding of the mission, aims and objectives and values of Turner Contemporary in the wider regeneration of East Kent A good working knowledge of current digital best practice and new developments Highly analytical with the ability to interpret data Knowledge of google analytics, adwords and social media ad management tools Experience of working within an arts or heritage venue Experience of working for a charity Experience of coordinating complex projects Experience of overseeing and producing video content Experience of using a content management system to edit/update and publish web pages 4

Excellent database skills and an excellent understanding of CRM systems e.g. ThanQ Computer literate; a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Able to use Adobe Photoshop and InDesign Innovative with a demonstrable interest in emerging digital technologies and social media developments Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbally and in writing with a high attention to detail and the ability to communicate well with a broad range of people Excellent Excel skills Experience of e-commerce Experience of email automation 5
