Presidents Welcome: Apology Board Directors Reports: Secretary : Charles District Conference is now available for registration on 9-11 May, 2018, at Sea World. Committee Meeting was held with Surfers Paradise Sunrise Club re Black Tie Charity Event next year, all progressing well. Club Service: Allan Melbourne Cup Trifecta Competition pleased to announce that the winner was Karen Thomas, and I am happy that the winner was one of our members as it is a bit of a reward for the hours that go into contributing to our Club. The total raised from this event was $2667.00 Bunnings BBQ- very successful BBQ on the 11 th November, total raised was $2228.00 Next Bunnings BBQ to be held on 3 rd December, Roster to be sent out, volunteers needed please. Our last meeting this year will be the 14 th December, a casual Xmas Meeting and the first Meeting in the new year will on the 11 th January. Youth: Anthony Introduced and spoke about our Rotaract guests and their current activities. Harrison, from Rotaract gave us the details on their fundraising event this Saturday, Do it in a Dress and a BBQ at Mowbray Park, from 10.00am Gold Coast Ramble Scooter Project : David We currently have 44 scooters out on hire for $1 per year and hew is looking for volunteers to visit each one, give each volunteer a Xmas pudding and see how they are going. Zac: Reported that the movie night Murder on the Orient Express raised $220 from our Club to Polio Plus Foundation. Black Tie Team

Guest Speaker This Week : PDG Tony Heading on the Rotary Foundation. Colleen and Teresa BTD Nick and Jac BTD The Rotary Foundation is 100 year old now and has contributed $3billion to life changing and sustainable projects around the world in this time. 91% is spent on programs and projects 4 star rating- No. 3 Charity rating by CNBS in world rankings of charities. The Rotary Foundation is split into Polio Plus Fund, Annual Program Fund and the Permanent Fund ( Endowment Fund) Polio Plus Fund is increased by contributions from Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Annual Program Fund invested for three years then the interest income is used for District and Global Grants. The Permanent Fund ( Endowment Fund) is an investment only fund. Our Club goals- we contributed $7558 in 2016-2017 Annual fund- we have already contributed our $2500 for this year. Everyone should consider supporting the Rotary Foundation not just through our Club but personally as well, as only 24% of all Rotarians currently contribute to RF personally now. Tony gave out a very nice piece of RF cake and also a Centurion $2 money collector to encourage all members to contribute at least $100 for the year to RF. Lovely Ladies BTD Other News: Important! Last meeting 14 th December First Meeting next year is 11 th January. Club Xmas Party is on 17 th December at Schuster Park ( our Park) all partners, family and friends most welcome. 10.30am to 3.00pm for a BBQ lunch, activities and a Cricket match- Australia vs The Rest of the World! Disability Awards Dinner Around the District & Beyond: District Conference is now available for registration on 9-11 May, 2018, at Sea World. Heads & Tails: Tossed by Linda ( welcome back!) and won by Linda as she managed to eliminate everyone! Annual Changeover Happy Fines: Charles whipped around everyone for a quick donation!
