A PIN diode and a preamplifier are assembled on a leadframe, he epoxy package conains an IR filer. The demodulaed oupu signal can be direcly conneced o a microprocessor for decoding. The TSOP314.. series devices are opimized o suppress almos all spurious pulses from energy saving lamps like CFLs. The AGC4 used in he TSOP314.. may suppress some daa signals. The TSOP312.. series are provided primarily for compaibiliy wih old AGC2 designs. New designs should prefer he TSOP314.. series conaining he newer AGC4. SUITABLE DATA FORMAT This series is designed o suppress spurious oupu pulses due o noise or disurbance signals. The devices can disinguish daa signals from noise due o differences in frequency, burs lengh, and envelope duy cycle. The daa signal should be close o he device s band-pass cener frequency (e.g. 38 khz) and fulfill he condiions in he able below. When a daa signal is applied o he produc in he presence of a disurbance, he sensiiviy of he receiver is auomaically reduced by he AGC o insure ha no spurious pulses are presen a he receiver s oupu. Some examples which are suppressed are: DC ligh (e.g. from ungsen bulbs sunligh) Coninuous signals a any frequency Srongly or weakly modulaed paerns from fluorescen lamps wih elecronic ballass (see Fig. 14 or Fig. 15).
