German heritage American made fully tested Why DESMA? We make it easy for rubber product manufacturers who want a one-stop supplier for machines, molds and process development. DESMA started in the late 1960 s building industrial molding machines for rubber molding applications. Soon thereafter, we began building tooling for core customers. Over time, demand for DESMA tooling grew. Customers liked the process assistance we provided. DESMA optimized tooling was born. These first steps provided the foundation for mold excellence that is unprecedented in our industry. Today, DESMA has designed and built molds that are in production at leading engine sealing companies, NVH molders, electrical component producers, pipe seal fabricators and medical molders. We stand out because our molds, coupled with our knowledge of polymers ranging from silicone to Fluroelastomers define DESMA optimized tooling. Today we give our customers the option to build their molds in our North American Mold Shop. Tooling with metal inserts Electrical Industry New, modern milling equipment for high quality mold making. To build high quality molds, you must have high quality equipment. DESMA invested heavily in proper turning, grinding and milling equipment. Our vertical milling center is capable of machining molds for presses up to 700 tons. This is ideal for production of multiple cavity engine gaskets. All machining centers are equipped with glass scales for precise repeatability. Our grinder is capable of surfacing all mold plates that we produce. High Quality Injection tested DESMA injection molds and cold runner systems are thoroughly checked prior to customer delivery. The competative advantage with our molds is the ability to test and optimize them in our Demonstration Lab. This capability not only assures the mold was properly built with adequate clearances, runner sizes and vacuum provisions, but it also gives our customers assurance that the tested tool is ready for production. Our CNC turning center gives us the capability to produce components for standard open tip cold runner blocks and our patented FlowControl cold runner systems. DESMA Cold Runner systems designed for elastomeric applications DESMA FlowControl Valve gated cold runner system Product Award 2006 After years of working in the field of CRB design, DESMA set out to build an optimal cold runner for the rubber industry. The result is the FlowControl. Our patented design is so revolutionary that we received the DKG award for product excellence in 2006. Our FlowControl is fully integrated into the machines hydraulic system. Each nozzle is adjusted by an injection screen page on the machine PLC. DESMA s unique design allows maintenance access while the block remains in the machine to minimize unproductive downtime! Some of the FlowControl attributes include: Mold balancing by independent control of each nozzle Zero vulcanized waste when used with properly designed tool Suitable with high viscosity compounds Minimal pressure drop at the nozzle Service of the unit is possible at the press without removal DESMA open tip cold runner systems Since the 1980's our mold shop in Germany has been a leading provider of the open nozzle cold runners. To date, hundreds of systems have been successfully delivered. We are now producing these units in our Hebron, Kentucky mold shop. Our solid gun drilled units incorporate a fluid tempered nozzle tower design to maintain homogenous temperature control. All distribution channels are hand polished to ensure proper transition. A DESMA Sales Manager can quickly determine if a FlowControl or open tip cold runner system is right for you. Cutaway view of a DESMA open tip cold runner
