The Old Creamery Quilt Shop and The Old Creamery Woolen Mill 2017 November/December 2017 The air is crisp, snow is coming down, and the fireplace is crackling. It's a perfect time for indoor projects. Time to work on that stash or maybe tackle those unfinished projects you've been putting off. We find it helpful to make a list of all the quilting projects that need starting and/or finishing. There are so many special occasions to think about! Is it a wedding gift, a quilt for a new grandchild, a snuggly TV quilt, or perhaps a new inspiration? Whatever your aspirations are, we, at The Old Creamery Quilt Shop, have many new projects, ideas and activities that are sure to help. We are excited to be in our fifth year of operating the quilt shop. As we pause to give thanks during the upcoming holidays, we want you to know how much we appreciate your business and how blessed we are with the many new friends we have met during this venture. We have expanded this year with The Woolen Mill and look forward to continuing our growth and serving you in 2018. We will strive to provide you with a great selection of fabrics, yarn, patterns, and books as well as classes to challenge and inspire you. Everyone here at The Old Creamery would like to take this opportunity to you warm wishes for a wonderful holiday and quilting season! Please see the website for supplies needed for each class. Class members must have an original pattern or book for some classes. You will receive a 10% discount on class supplies purchased from the quilt/yarn shop on class day. This book is a great guide of the basics of how to use these papers. The patterns range in styles and sizes so there is something for everyone. New Block of Month (BOM) Watch for more information about two new fun Block of the Months starting in March. The first is Painter s Garden by Nancy Rink Designs for Marcus and will include laser cut pre-fused shapes for the applique version. The second will be Graphic Gems (garnet and sapphire version) from Marcus by Sarah J. which is a beautiful 10 square batik block of the month. We will have samples for viewing in the shop by late December.

Products from our Woolen Mill are starting to arrive in the shop! You must stop in and see the felted shoe inserts, dryer balls, yarns and felted quilt batts! The felted quilt batts are great for strength and warmth. No more lofty batts. The recommended quilting is every 4 inches. The batts are needle felted so they are washer friendly. Recommended is washing with warm water on gentle cycle. Tumble dry low. They are spectacular and what a great way to support our local farmers! All items may be purchased online too, by visiting our website. www.oldcreameryquiltshop.com/woolenmill Christmas is for Giving Join us for 3 days of giving. Starting December 4, we will meet in the classroom for three Mondays of fun and quick projects to make for Christmas gifts. We will see you on December 4, 11, and 18 at 10:30. There will be a variety of projects to choose from. Some patterns may be required. December 5 Felted mitten ornaments $3.50 Gift card holder $3.50 December 12 Christmas ornaments $3.00 December 18 Microwave bowls $3.00 Do you knit? Would you like to learn? There are many intangible benefits that come from spending some time knitting. Once you get beyond the initial learning curve, knitting and crocheting can lower heart rate and blood pressure and reduce harmful levels of the stress hormone cortisol in your bloodstream. It can help alleviate some symptoms of anxiety, stress, and depression. Unlike meditation, however, craft activities result in tangible and often useful products that can enhance self-esteem. So come and join us for a fun, casual and relaxing time with us knitting at The Old Creamery every Friday morning at 11:00 and enjoy the benefits! Pictured are a recent group of knitters working hard at having fun! Definitely no stress in this group! The doctor said I needed more fiber so I went directly to the quilt shop!

Plan on doing all your holiday shopping at the Old Creamery Quilt Shop Quilt Auction!! It s very simple!!
