Industrial Tours JCI had organized three tours for governmental officials to increase there awareness of industrial SMEs challenges Visits organized last September and November, And in April 2015 Those past visits covered Marka, Sahab city, AL-Mowaqar, and Irbid Governorate in south of Jordan. JCI aims to visit all industrial arias by the end of 2015, were the next tow visit supposed to cover Aqaba and Zarqa Governorates.

Industrial Tours Main Result The industrial SMEs had the opportunity to demonstrate to government officials their production capacity and significant contribution to the national economy in terms of exports and employment The officials from the Jordan Institute of Standards and Metrology who participated in the tour met a factory manager and helped him to overcome an obstacle related to exports by explaining to him the right procedures and the documentation requirements, such as the certificates of origin, that need to be submitted with exported products. Thus, the visit served as an awareness and educational tool for the factory manager and helped him to resolve an issue with export procedures Another success story was achieved with a factory working in the printing sector. The factory was awaiting approval for expansion from the Jordan Investment Commission. The Jordan Investment Commission's representative who was present at the tour helped the factory to solve this problem and clarified the required procedures.

Industrial Tours Significant contribution to the GDP sector

SME Financing Fair In the framework of providing supportive services to SMEs in the Jordanian Industrial Sector, Jordan Chamber of Industry (JCI) has organized the SME Financing Fair. This initiative comes from JCI s belief that it should be the true mediator between industrial Firms and the financial sector in the country. sector This one of a kind initiative provided an exhibition style event where more than 16 financial institutions (banks and non-banks) came together to demonstrate their products and services offered to SMEs. The members of the chamber visited the exhibition and met with the exhibitors and learned about credit offerings for their businesses.

SME Financing Fair This event has proved to be a success for JCI to further strengthen its role as the mediator between the members from one side and the government and financial services providers from the other side, as it allowed JCI to achieve the following: Provide the much needed services of access to financing to JCI members. Allow for financial institutions (banking and non-banking) to meet with Significant industrial business owners and create a better understanding of their needs. contribution to the Create GDP awareness and understanding among governmental sector stakeholders of the need of Industrial SMEs for getting credit, as well as a better understanding of JCI s role.

Industrial Service Center (Free Hotline) The industrial service center" project comes from the grate cooperation between JCI and DI (Danish industrial confederation) in enhancing the effectiveness of the services provided for industrial SMEs in various sectors, through JCI SME Technical Support Unit. This project intended to provide SMEs with direct answers and solutions for their urgent issues related to four main areas, namely: Significant contribution to the GDP General Legal Consultations. Media and Marketing Consultations. Sales & Income Tax Consultation. Customs Consultations. sector

Industrial Service Center (Free Hotline) Project Goals: Answering industrial SMEs questions related to for main category of consultation. Enhance JCI s image and its positioning in the minds of members. Build a gateway to the most frequent questions and issues facing SMEs and circulate it through JCI website so that all SMEs could benefit from. Significant contribution to the GDP Enhance the cooperation with local chambers and business associations as well as other stakeholders. sector Conduct analysis of the provided data and utilizing such to derive indicators for other demanded services in the future. Encourage the SMEs to overcome their managerial problems throughout this line of service. To build the culture of seeking consultation and advisory services among industrial SMEs

Industrial Service Center rustles so far Summary Consultation General Legal Consultations Customs consultations Sales & Income Tax Consultation Media and Marketing Consultations Total calls Number of calls 145 125 110 50 430 Notes 33.7% of calls received were on general legal issues from all categories of industrial sectors 29% of customs consultations calls came from SMEs working in Chemical industries and cosmetic preparations 25.5% of calls received on tax and income issues came from SMEs working in all industry categories, but the highest rate was from Engineering, electrical and information technology industries 11.6% of calls came to media consultant were from SMEs working on handmade products such as woods and garments sectors Strong indication that significant awareness has been created of this service.

Energy Solutions: The Future of the Industrial Sector Conference Date : 19-20 th, Oct, 2015 Location : Amman Jordan Main Objectives : - Open a dialogue between all related stakeholders to discuss the status, challenges and future of renewable energy and energy efficiency in Jordan and specially in the industrial sector. Significant contribution to - Show the the role GDPof chambers of industry and business associations to sector encourage and to promote renewable energy and energy efficiency projects. - Facilitate access to market, finance and advisory services in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency
