18 Conclusion 1. Productivity growth and the innovative capacity of the Slovak economy have been greatly aided by macroeconomic stability, the opening of the economy and market liberalization, but some organizations and scientific centers continue to lag significantly behind the state of existing knowledge. 2. Innovation policies should facilitate the dissemination of global knowledge in a wider range of population 3. Taking into account current insufficient financial situation related to S&T, government of the Slovak Republic prepared and approved in 2005 a strategic documents in order to search forms of strengthening of science and technology. The aim is to increase the volume of finances from public and private funds and from international research programs which will represent the value 1,8 % of GDP in 2010.
