Congratulations! By the time you finish reading this you will have defeated your urge to give in to your sexual temptations! You may be wondering how is it that I ve defeated this desire when I haven t done anything? Well, you have! By reading this quick cheat sheet, you ve done the most important thing of all - you ve interrupted a hardwired difficult to break pattern. How? Let me explain Working with people over so many years, one of the top things I hear is Zeyad, it just happened, I just slipped I just relapsed. That type of mentality puts you in a disempowered state of a victim - that you are powerless and can do nothing about it. When in actuality, there are very predictable choices, although unconscious that you made. 5

At the root of your struggles is that you don t give yourself enough time to make a choice. As soon as you are triggered, you ve conditioned an automatic response, which is to turn to pornography and masturbation. The result is always frustration, disappointment, and a wish that you could go back and make a different choice. This Standing Strong Exercise is that next best thing to a time machine in that it allows you to pause momentarily and actually decide what it is you want. This exercise is fundamental to not just withstanding temptations and overcoming desires, but more importantly giving you the space to choose what you actually desire, rather than being driven by something you don t really want. When you have the conscious space to choose you can make decisions that not only feel good but are good for you and your life. 6

Now it s time for the Standing Strong Exercise. Here s what you need to do: 1. Stand up 2. Take off your shoes 3. Why? It will help you better connect to the ground you re standing on 4. Feel the ground. Notice the texture, temperature, etc. Focus on that and observe it closely. 5. Notice your feet on the ground and how that feels. Wiggle your toes and roll your ankles. 6. Bring your focus to your shins and knees. Observe them and see how they feel. Bring your conscious energy to that area of your body. 7. Combine the feeling of the ground, the feeling of your feet, and the presence in your shins and knees. 8. Focus on your thighs up to your waist. What do you notice? What sensations do you notice? 9. Focus on your torso from your stomach to your chest. Notice your breathing. Allow your stomach to relax if you are keeping it tense. Focus on four deep breaths. 10.Combine your focus on the ground, your feet, your shins, your legs, and your stomach. Bring them all together. 11.Bring both of your hands to your heart and say out loud, I support you in making the right choice for us. You don t really want to give in to your sexual temptations right now. 12.And then ask yourself, What is it that I really want right now? 13.Notice how you feel. Compare how you felt before you started and after you re done. Notice how free you feel. Do you feel energized? If you are still struggling, repeat as necessary. 7
