1 Brief descriptin The tuner DCT 704x is designed fr digital cable set tp bx applicatin in cmpliance with the Eurpean digital cable standard ETS 300 429. The tuner cnsists f a VHF/ UHF tuner, a SAW filter fr channel filtering, an IF amplifier with AGC and an antenna lp thrugh functin. The full frequency range frm 47 t 862 MHz is autmatically splitted int 3 bands and after gain setting and filtering cnverted t the standard IF frequency f 36 MHz by means f a mixer/scillatr IC. The tuner incrprates the Thmsn Universal Tuning System, which desn't require any band switching infrmatin. The unit is built n a lwlss printed circuit bard carrying all the cmpnents in a metal husing frame with tp and rear cvers. The aerial cnnectrs (IEC-male/female type) are munted n ne frame side; all ther cnnectins are made via pins at the bttm. 9 Electrstatic discharge 9.1 Test Each DUT must be capable f nrmal perfrmance fllwing its subjectin t the fllwing tests: MIL STD 883C HBM Test is perfrmed with a vltage discharge frm a 100 PF capacitr ver a 1500 Ω series resistance in the discharge path.
