Preacherdigger49@gmail.com Texas Association of Metal Detecting Clubs Polley Mansion Gives Back Project January 13, 2018 * Sutherland Springs, TX Unifying Texas Clubs & Preserving History One Find at a Time What at awesome time we had at the Polley Mansion, aka Whitehall, "Gives Back" Project, Saturday, January 13, 2018. We had 12 T.A.M.D.C. metal detecting clubs represented, from Dallas to Houston, to Austin to San Antonio, from East Texas to South Texas, with 60 detectorists in attendance and 80 people overall. We also had 10 archeologists from The Texas Historical Commission, The Center for Archeological Studies, Terracon, the City of San Antonio, and the Southern Texas Archeological Association present as well. One archeologist said, "It was a great day, where archaeologists and metal detecting enthusiasts joined forces to record the archaeological record of an important piece of Texas' history. It was great seeing such partnership between detectorists and archeologists." The detectorists unearthed and flagged hundreds of targets, and the archeologist tagged and bagged them. It truly was a pleasure to work alongside these dedicated professionals. The T.A.M.D.C. even presented each archeologist with a copper round as a token of our appreciation. Looking forward to doing it again and possibly working in the future with our new archeological friends.

There were several clubs represented, (AMDC, CMDC, HARC, BVMDC), one dealer (CS Sales), and the Polley Mansion, donated silver coins, silver rounds, copper rounds, t-shirts and Minelab Pinpointer for a raffle and 5 category winners at the end of the day. The T.A.M.D.C. was able to raise $345 from the raffle and gave this money back to the Polley Mansion for their future preservation of the Polley Mansion. At the end of the day it was announced that within a year the T.A.M.D.C and the Polley Mansion will once again partner, along with the archeologists, to try and find more history on this historical Texas location. For more pictures and the rest of the story log on www.tamdc.org or the TAMDC Facebook Events page. Our Sympathy to the St. Claire Family Tuesday, February 6 th @ 4:00 a.m. Dorris St. Claire passed away. She was a faithful wife, a good mother, and a competitive metal detectorist who seemed to always win the raffles. She was a committed member of RCTHA, ETTHA, SCMDC, and the TAMDC. She will be missed but she now walks on the streets of gold. Our prayers and sympathy go out to Junior and family during this time of grief. Junior and Dorris were married for 62 years. Dorris St. Claire Feb. 27, 1935-Feb. 6, 2018 -May Dorris rest in peace and may God comfort the family- 2
